In the document issued by the Ministry of Education in 2014,"core literacy" was clearly put forward. The new geography curriculum standards for senior high schools issued in 2017 and junior high school geography curriculum standards issued in 2022 both have core literacy as the purpose of curriculum concepts and objectives throughout the whole curriculum standard, which has started the quality-oriented geography curriculum reform, indicating that the current era of education has increasingly emphasized the cultivation of core literacy in geography. In geography, geographical landscape reflects the intuitive form of geographical things, reveals the development law of regional geographical things and the interrelation and mutual influence of various elements, and is an important carrier for understanding the characteristics of geographical regions. When students perceive and interpret the geographical landscape, they can describe the characteristics of different geographical elements according to the geographical landscape to cultivate students’ regional cognitive ability;Analyze the relationship between geographical elements in geographical landscape, summarize geographical features, refine geographical laws, and form comprehensive thinking ability;Understand the necessity and possibility of forming a harmonious relationship between human beings and the geographical environment, and establish the concept of human-earth coordination. In the process of observing geographical landscape in the field, students’ geographical practice ability can be improved. Therefore,we can cultivate students’ core geographical literacy and promote the development of quality education by perceiving and interpreting geographical landscapes. In addition, the report of the Twentieth National Congress once again stressed the need to further strengthen the high-quality development of education in ethnic areas and promote education equity. However, due to the complexity and particularity of ethnic areas, there are certain differences among ethnic student groups. Therefore,in order to promote the cultivation of core literacy of students in minority areas and the development of quality education in minority areas, this paper focuses on the study of students’ geographical landscape perception and interpretation ability in minority areas, and focuses on the differences of students. This paper takes the Yi,Hui and Miao students of the Fourth Middle School in Lufeng City, around Heijing Town,Lufeng City,Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture,as the research object, and enters the geography class of the school to listen, understand the teachers’ teaching methods and students’ learning situation, and conduct a questionnaire survey and interview on the perception and interpretation ability of the geographical landscape of all the students in grade eight,From 124 questionnaires,it can be concluded that the overall level of perception and interpretation ability of eighth grade students is low, among which the Yi,Hui and Miao students have their own strengths, such as the geographical landscape interpretation ability of Yi and Hui students is equal, the geographical landscape perception ability of Hui students is strong, and the overall ability of Miao students is not prominent. From 124 students,12 students were selected according to the ethnic proportion to conduct in-depth interviews and follow-up observation, and it was found that their differences were affected by ethnic characteristics, family education, village landscape environment and other factors. In view of the low overall level of ability and the uneven ability of different ethnic groups, this paper proposes to use research-based learning activities to stimulate students’ interest in geography and inquiry ability, realize the complementarity of ethnic advantages in the way of personalized group cooperative learning, and cultivate students’ sense of cooperation, which is more conducive to helping different students learn about geographical landscapes. After testing, both teachers and students said that the effect was good. Therefore, improving the ability of landscape perception and interpretation can achieve the cultivation of core literacy,so as to promote the development of quality education and strengthen the education in ethnic areas. |
