With the development of the times,more and more people begin to pay attention to the practicality of knowledge and advocate an open and experiential chemistry classroom,hoping to promote students’ diversified development and realize the cultivation of students’ comprehensive ability as well as core literacy through the design of diversified classroom activities.The application of role-playing teaching method to the development of cases in school-based curriculum is conducive to promoting students’ understanding and mastery of knowledge,and achieving quality education while enriching classroom activities.At present,there are few studies on the practice of role-playing pedagogy,and further research is needed on how to integrate role-playing as a teaching method with school-based chemistry curriculum.Therefore,this study develops a school-based chemistry curriculum case based on role-playing teaching method in a school-based curriculum and conducts a practical study in S Middle School in Kunming.It is intended to develop a school-based curriculum case that reflects the characteristics of the school and enrich the theoretical and practical research on role-play teaching method in chemistry teaching;at the same time,it is expected to provide new insights and reflections for teachers’ school-based curriculum teaching.Based on the analysis of the current situation of domestic and international research,this study provides an overview of the school-based curriculum and the connotation of role-playing teaching method and related theories.The feasibility of the case development was clarified,and the construction of the chemistry school-based curriculum cases based on the role-play teaching method was determined;based on the principles of case development,the basis of content selection,the selection of practical cases combined with student questionnaires,and the implementation of specific cases based on the case implementation process.After the practical study,the following conclusions were drawn through various evaluation methods,combined with analysis at both student and teacher levels.The practical study showed that(1)the development of a high school chemistry school-based case based on the role-play teaching method is beneficial to the transformation of students’ learning habits,attitudes,and methods.(2)Feedback from teachers and students showed that both teachers and students were satisfied;the school-based curriculum cases based on the role-play teaching method not only met students’ needs for the school-based curriculum and increased their interest in learning chemistry,but also helped improve students’ classroom concentration,participation,and increased their understanding of careers.(3)It has a positive impact on the development of students’ overall ability and the improvement of their performance,and it is also conducive to the promotion of teachers’ professionalism.
