Since the 18th CPC National Congress,General Secretary Xi Jinping have set foot on the Red Land multiple times and visited the old revolutionary base areas.Emphasize that the people of the Dabie Mountains should continue the red footprints of their predecessors and pass down the red mountains and rivers from generation to generation. The Dabie Mountain Revolutionary Base is located across the three provinces of Hubei,Henan, and Anhui, and is one of the famous red revolutionary holy sites in China. The rich red cultural resources of the Dabie Mountains embody the blood and flesh of the revolutionary martyrs in the Dabie Mountains region, carry the ideals and beliefs of the older generation of revolutionaries in the Dabie Mountains region, have undergone countless tests of war and the baptism of time, and are a rich spiritual food for the younger generation. In order to vigorously promote and inherit the red culture of the Dabie Mountains, many primary schools in the Dabie Mountains region have incorporated red culture into the school education system and have successively carried out practical exploration of school-based curriculum development for red culture.By organizing and selecting the red culture in the Dabie Mountains region and adapting it to the cognitive level of primary school students, making red culture an acceptable curriculum for primary school students can not only help the next generation better inherit the red gene, but also provide reference and reference for primary school red culture education in other regions. Therefore, the research on the development of primary school red culture school-based curriculum not only has practical value but also historical value. This study is based on Taylor’s goal model, and analyzes the necessity and feasibility of developing school-based curriculum for red culture. We conducted research and analysis on the development of red culture school-based curriculum in primary schools in the Dabie Mountains region using case study and questionnaire survey methods.Specifically,we conducted a questionnaire survey on red culture education in five counties within the jurisdiction of City A in the Dabie Mountains region, and conducted a case study on the development of red culture school-based curriculum in three primary schools in the Dabie Mountains region: Hubei Hong’an Lenin Primary School,Anhui Jinzhai Lenin Primary School, and Anhui Qianshan Meicheng Central Primary School,This article analyzes the current development status of three primary schools from the perspectives of the background, objectives, process, implementation, and evaluation of school-based curriculum development for red culture.Through questionnaire surveys and case analysis,we found that the vast majority of primary schools in the Dabie Mountains region attach great importance to the development of red culture school-based curriculum, and have their own characteristics and rich experience: the construction of red school-based curriculum is closely combined with the creation of characteristic schools, and red has become the background color of many schools; The organic integration of red education bases and moral education classrooms makes the direction of education more clear; The combination of red songs and school songs, with ideological and political aspects throughout the entire music education; The combination of red culture and school landscape has become a beautiful scenery on campus. However,we also found the following problems in the development of red culture school-based curriculum in primary schools in the Dabie Mountains region: the lack of systematization of red culture school-based curriculum in primary schools in the Dabie Mountains region; The construction of red culture school-based curriculum in primary schools in the Dabie Mountains region lacks planning and planning; The implementation of red culture school-based curriculum in primary schools in the Dabie Mountains region lacks constancy; The development of red culture school-based curriculum in primary schools in the Dabie Mountains region lacks in-depth research on surrounding resources;Lack of planned introduction of red cultural resources in subject teaching; Some primary schools do not attach enough importance to the education of red culture courses. In order to further develop the school-based curriculum of red culture in primary schools in the Dabie Mountains region,we propose the following suggestions: attach great importance to the significance of the construction of school-based curriculum of red culture;Emphasize the systematization and diversification of school-based curriculum construction for red culture;Attach importance to the planning of school-based curriculum construction for red culture;Increase research, organization, and use of surrounding red cultural resources;Emphasize the red background design of campus cultural construction;Consciously incorporating red cultural elements into subject teaching.
