The Seventh National Population Census of National Bureau of Statistics of China showed that the floating population in China was nearly 380 million,with characteristics of family mobility.A large number of children moving with their parents to urban for a life.After their compulsory education has gradually been solved,the development of family education was slow.Most of the existing studies stayed in the status quo,influencing factors and coping measures of family education of migrant children.The practical studies of social work intervention in family education of migrant children mostly adopted The Satir Model but less use The Structural Family Therapy.In this study,field research was used to observe and interview a migrant family to explore their family education problems and needs.The four steps of Minuchin Structural Family Therapy were adopted to intervene in the family education difficulties,tense parent-child relationship and the unbalanced family structure caused by the insufficient communications,simple modes of education,single content and the lack of investment of education.Expanded the main demands of the family members to help them see that the main problems were not the personal self-harming behavior of the children,but the imbalance of the family structure;focused on exploring the interaction of maintaining the problems,and explored what the words and deeds of the family members led to the lasting existence of the problems;A structured exploration of the past,providing a brief,focused exploration of the past of adult family members(parents)to help them understand how their present views and relationships with others were formed;explored the relevant ways of change,who needed to change,what to change,and who was willing to change.The results showed that The Structural Family Therapy can be used to help the migrant family reduce communication barriers,increase mutual understanding and support among members,help parents change the original way of education,and restore the balance of family structure.This study provided practical experience sharing for the application of The Structural Family Therapy in family education of migrant children,and further enriched the applicability and operability of Structural Family Therapy in the localization process.
