With the development of economy and society, more and more people are moving from rural to urban areas. As a special group of children, the physiological and psychological problems of migrant children in the process of migration affect their socialization development. The survey found that migrant children are influenced by their personalities, families and values when interacting with peer groups, and that good peer relationships help children grow up healthily. How to help migrant children build peer support and promote their integration into urban peer groups has become a hot topic of concern for many scholars. In this paper,we use questionnaires and interviews to collect information from the children in community D of Bijie City as the research site.Through the survey of migrant children in community D,we learned that due to the influence of individual negative psychology,old-fashioned family education concept, low community attention, and school maladjustment, the current situation of migrant children in community D’s integration into urban peer groups mainly includes: low willingness to interact with peers;lack of peer interaction ability;and insufficient peer support. Therefore, the author conducted group work to develop a growth group for migrant children in Community D of Bijie City to integrate into urban peer groups.Through the group work service, the migrant children in Community D showed increased willingness to integrate into urban peer groups, improved ability, and increased frequency of interaction with local children. The following conclusions were drawn:group work can create conditions for migrant children to integrate into urban peer groups;group work can effectively improve migrant children’s peer interaction skills;and the integration of migrant children into urban peer groups requires joint attention from various parties. This paper summarizes and reflects on the research by exploring the effectiveness and advantages of social work in the integration of migrant children into urban peer groups, and provides references for related research.
