| The national notice on deepening the integration of physical education and promoting the healthy development of adolescents,as well as the notice on the National Fitness Plan(2021-2025),both point out that students should not only enjoy fun in the classroom, but also strengthen their physical health and cultivate the awareness of lifelong exercise. This requires physical education institutions to further deepen the reform of physical education teaching in elective courses. The focus of teaching reform lies in the improvement and innovation of research methods, thereby improving the quality of teaching.Through literature review, there are many research methods applied in tennis teaching, and the evaluation indicators mostly involve the level of interest. However,a single method is used to enhance students’ interest. Therefore,on the basis of the four Stage theory theory of interest development, this research summarizes the methods of improving interest, designs teaching programs according to the learning situation and the actual teaching situation, selects targeted teaching methods, stimulates students’ interest, and improves teaching quality. This research mainly applies the literature method, expert interview method, questionnaire survey method and teaching experiment method, which is divided into two parts:(1)Teaching design: using the literature method and expert interview method, based on the four Stage theory theory of interest development, select methods and means to stimulate interest in the four stages of interest development;Use the questionnaire survey method to determine experimental evaluation indicators and teaching design plans.(2)Experimental verification: Forty undergraduate students majoring in martial arts routines from the 2019 martial arts college of Guangzhou Institute of Physical Education were selected as experimental subjects and randomly divided into an experimental group and a control group. The experimental group adopted the "teaching design of tennis elective course in physical education colleges based on the four Stage theory theory of interest development" for teaching, and the control group adopted conventional teaching for 16 weeks of teaching experiments. Before and after the experiment,a comparative analysis was conducted between the experimental group and the control group in terms of physical fitness, tennis skills(technical standards, technical evaluation),psychology(stimulated situational interest, maintained situational interest, initial individual interest, stable individual interest),and teaching effectiveness.Result:(1)The experimental group significantly improved their performance in badminton long throw,1-minute rope skipping, and 50 m running compared to the control group(P<0.01);(2)The experimental group scored significantly higher in backhand diagonal and serve scores than the control group(P<0.01);(3)The experimental group showed a higher level of ’stimulated situational interest’ than the control group, and there was a significant difference.(F=0.51,P=0.00,partial eta=0.49),the degree of arousal shows the result of "arousing students’ situational interest>maintaining students’ situational interest>initial individual interest>stable individual interest",the Main effect of time and group is significant, and the P value is less than 0.05 after the experiment when doing time simple effect analysis;(4)After the experiment, the experimental group showed higher satisfaction with teaching content, teaching effectiveness, and teaching progress compared to the control group(P<0.01).Conclusion:(1)The teaching design based on the four Stage theory theory of interest development has improved the students’ explosive power, endurance and speed quality;(2)The teaching design based on the four Stage theory theory of interest development can significantly improve the baseline forehand and backhand hitting and serving skills;(3)The teaching design based on the four Stage theory theory of interest development has stimulated students’ interest in learning tennis, especially in the stage of "stimulating situational interest";(4)The teaching design based on the four Stage theory theory of interest development has effectively improved the classroom teaching effect. |
