With the deepening of the new curriculum reform, our country attaches more and more importance to sports. In order to effectively improve the teaching effect, enhance the physical quality and all-round development of students,a variety of new teaching methods have been widely used in practical teaching. As a combination of running and straddling sports, hurdle running has relatively complex technology and is a short distance sport with high technical requirements for athletes. In this study, the task-driven teaching method is applied to the hurdle running teaching of track and field general courses in sports colleges and departments, taking the task as the main line and setting different tasks according to the teaching content to mobilize the enthusiasm and subjective initiative of students. With teachers as the leading, teachers change from the traditional teaching "evangelist" to the new teaching "guide";Take students as the main body, carry out the people-oriented view of students.Through task-driven teaching,it can not only stimulate students’ learning interest and motivation, cultivate positive and optimistic learning attitude, but also help students to master knowledge and skills efficiently and further enhance students’ self-confidence.This paper conducts experimental research on the "task-driven teaching method" in hurdle running teaching, exploring and discovering the differences and application effects of task-driven teaching method and traditional teaching method.Through the methods of literature review, expert interview and questionnaire survey, the experimental subjects were students from 2 classes of 2021 majoring in physical education of Guangzhou University of Sport, randomly divided into experimental group and control group, including 22 students in the experimental group and 23 students in the control group,a total of 45 people. After the experiment, the data of the two groups of students were statistically analyzed, and the results were as follows:(1)There were significant differences between the experimental group and the control group in the technical evaluation and standard achievement of hurdle running(P < 0.05),and the experimental group had better results than the control group.(2)There was no significant change in physical fitness between the experimental group and the control group(standing 60 m,turning back(4*10),1-minute sit-up,seated forward bend, standing triple jump)(P>0.05).(3)The test scores of learning interest, attitude, motivation and self-confidence of the students in the experimental group and the control group all improved, and the experimental group adopted task-driven teaching method to improve more, and there was a significant difference between the two groups(P < 0.05),and the experimental group had a more obvious improvement effect.(4)In the evaluation of teaching methods and teaching effects, the satisfaction of students in the experimental group was higher than that of the control group, and the evaluation of task-driven teaching was better than that of traditional teaching. The following conclusions can be drawn:(1)In terms of hurdle running technology, compared with traditional teaching method,task-driven teaching method can better improve students’ technical evaluation performance and standard achievement.(2)In terms of physical fitness, due to the short experimental teaching time and the high level of personal physical fitness of students, there was no significant change in various indicators of students in the two groups after the experiment.(3)Task-driven teaching method can significantly improve students’ learning interest, attitude, motivation and self-confidence.Students’ evaluation of task-driven teaching method is better than traditional teaching method.
