Objective: With the increasingly fast pace of basketball offensive and defensive transitions, high requirements are put forward for athletes’ changing direction ability, different training methods have different degrees of development of change of direction ability. This study is an evidence-based study of the effects of SAQ training and soft ladder training on the training of basketball students in sports colleges,in order to provide new training methods, ideas and tools to promote the level of change of direction ability for basketball students in sports colleges. At the same time, the evaluation of the effects of SAQ training and soft ladder training interventions will provide a theoretical and practical basis for enriching basketball training. Methods: Using literature method, experimental method and other research methods,23 basketball special students from Guangzhou Sport University were used as experimental subjects to investigate the effects of three types of training on change of direction ability, randomly divided into SAQ training group(n=7),ladder training group(n=8)and conventional training group(n=8)by SPSS 19.0 software, and then the data were statistically analyzed.One-way ANOVA was used if the pre-test data conformed to a normal distribution, and a multi-sample non-parametric test was used if the data did not;after 9 weeks of intervention training twice a week,an analysis of covariance was performed on the post-test data to compare and analyze the effects of the three training groups on the change of direction ability of basketball students.Results:(1)There was no significant difference between the three training groups before the experiment(P>0.05).(2)SAQ training showed a highly significant increase in the test index of change of direction ability(P < 0.01).(3)Ladder training showed a highly significant improvement in all test indicators of change of direction ability(P <0.01),except for the AFL no-ball test(P < 0.05).(4)There was a highly significant improvement in all the test indicators of change of direction ability in the control training(P < 0.01).(5)The control group improved the "T" test more than the SAQ and ladder groups;the ladder group improved the 4×10 shuttle run and 505 test more than the SAQ and conventional groups;the SAQ group improved the Illinois test(no ball/ball),the AFL test(no ball/ball)and the Finnish FA test(no ball/ball)more than the soft ladder and conventional groups.Finnish FA test(no ball/ball)and dribble run around the bar.Conclusions:(1)SAQ training, ladder training and control training can improve the direction changing ability of students specializing in basketball.(2)SAQ training is helpful to improve the direction changing ability of students specializing in basketball under complex and changeable environment.(3)Ladder training can improve the ability to quickly change the body posture and control the body core in a small range.(4)Regular training can improve the ability of quick response to short distance step sliding and rapid direction change.(5)According to the comparative analysis of tests with and without the ball before and after the experiment,SAQ training has a larger increase in the ball holding ability test than ladder training and conventional training.
