As a special group,deaf-mute children have been widely concerned by the society.When paying attention to the rehabilitation training of deaf-mute children,the social communication ability of deaf-mute children also needs attention.Deaf and mute children are in the stage of mental and emotional development,sensitive to external senses,sensory defects lead to their cognitive and perceptual retardation,more difficult communication with others,narrow social range,They are unable to express their emotions and understand others effectively in the school,community and even larger group,and their social communication ability is generally low,which affects their mental health,self-cognition and interpersonal communication,hinders their normal learning and life,limits their social integration,and is not conducive to the healthy growth of deaf and mute children.One of the functions of horticultural therapy is to promote social communication.In recent years,social work has been applying horticultural therapy to children’s social work and it is effective,but there are few practical studies on deaf-mute children.Therefore,it is worth paying attention to whether horticultural therapy is effective in social interaction of deaf and mute children.Based on this,this study takes the deaf children aged 10-13 years old in Q City Deaf School as the service object,to understand the status quo of deaf and mute children’s social communication ability in life,such as weak sensory balance,strong sense of inferiority,lack of social interaction skills and lack of social cognition analyze its influencing factors from three aspects: self,family and society.This paper puts forward four needs of deaf-mute children to improve physical sensory balance,improve psychological and emotional inferiority,learn social skills,enhance social cognition.According to the needs of deaf and mute children,guided by the theoretical model of horticultural therapy,In the form of horticultural therapy group intervention on the service object.Through the quasi-experimental design,the group members were tested before and after,and the data analysis of questionnaire survey was used as an important basis for evaluation.The results showed that horticulture therapy had an obvious effect on the improvement of social communication ability of deaf and mute children.The intervention to improve the social communication ability of deaf-mute children has great innovation and reference significance for social work practice.However,social work intervention in horticulture therapy also has shortcomings.The author summarizes practical difficulties and puts forward suggestions to improve the effectiveness of horticulture therapy. |
