In recent years,the country attaches more and more importance to the development and inheritance of traditional culture.As the main field to inherit and develop traditional culture,wushu course in colleges is an effective way to promote the development of wushu projects in our country.Among them,the wushu elective course is the core course of inheriting wushu traditional culture and cultivating wushu talents.Wushu talents cultivated by special courses are the main factors affecting the high-quality development of wushu in primary and secondary schools and the inheritance and training of wushu in colleges and universities.At present,the development of wushu elective courses in Chinese colleges and universities is affected by multiple factors such as students,teachers,teaching courses,and social development needs.Students have some problems such as low initiative,weak interest,poor effect,and weak consciousness in learning wushu.Therefore,through studying the reform of Wushu elective course teaching in colleges and universities in Hubei Province,we can make full use of teaching resources and form a course structure organically linked with both inside and outside the school,improve the teaching quality of specialized courses and cultivate all aspects of high-quality wushu talents.In this paper,literature,questionnaire,interview,and other research methods are used to sort out the teaching status quo of specialized courses of martial arts in colleges and universities in Hubei province.Given the existing problems in specialized course teaching,influencing factors are found,a SWOT model matrix is constructed,and development countermeasures for specialized courses of martial arts in colleges and universities in Hubei province are formulated.The conclusions are as follows:SWOT analysis of Wushu Elective course teaching in colleges and universities in Hubei:(1)Advantage factors: Wushu characteristics and functional value advantage;Good mass foundation,with a wide range of adaptability;Various kinds of wushu events;Wushu project has more theoretical support.(2)Disadvantage factors: the movements of wushu events are complex and difficult;Less class setting,and more teaching content;The ideological and political elements of the curriculum are not penetrated perfectly;The development of "learning,practice and competition" is not in place;Lack of refereeing ability.(3)Opportunity factor:the country develops and inherits traditional sports in the new era;The need for PE curriculum and teaching reform;The continuous improvement of teachers’ professional quality;The teaching convenience brought by the information age.(4)Threat factors: students’ low interest in martial arts;The impact of other sports;The threat posed by athletes to students in selective classes;The equipment and facilities of the site are not perfect;Unbalanced allocation of university funds;Universities in Hubei lack communication platforms.According to SWOT matrix diagram,the development strategies of Wushu elective course teaching in colleges and universities in Hubei are given as follows:(1)Give full play to the role of policies,maximize the development of wushu projects,and promote the development of wushu elective course teaching;(2)With the help of modern information technology,change the teaching mode,update the teaching method,refine the teaching content,and improve students’ autonomous learning ability and innovation ability;(3)Constantly sublimate the professional quality of teachers,regularly carry out teacher training,at the same time strengthen the exchange and learning between universities,actively build the exchange platform,teachers’ professional ability is improved,students through mutual communication,mutual learning to find their own project positioning,develop their own good at boxing projects;(4)Increase the number of teaching hours,so that students can have enough time to study special courses,so as to improve the level of special skills;(5)All colleges and universities increase the investment of funds in the teaching of specialized martial arts courses,encourage students to go out for competition and study,give certain training funds subsidies to specialized teachers,implement teacher teaching and team training simultaneously,and improve the equipment and facilities of the site to ensure the normal and safe conduct of specialized martial arts courses.
