With the development of society,the advancement of medical technology,the "inverted pyramid" model of human age structure is becoming more and more obvious,and the number of widowed elderly people has also increased sharply,followed by a series of problems caused by widowhood,based on this,widowed elderly people hope to meet their own needs through remarriage and improve happiness in old age.However,through the literature survey method and the analysis of structural interview records of six widows,the author learned that remarriage in old age is not smooth sailing,and the problems shown are diverse,and various levels of problems are intertwined at the individual,family and social levels,which have formed obstacles to remarriage for a long timeThis article takes urban widowed elderly people as the research object,selects a typical object as the research object of this article to provide case service,and adopts social psychological treatment model,social support theory,and ABC personality theory to solve the problem of the case owner.The subject of this article lives in a city,and due to the failure of remarriage after a spouse’s death,his ideas have deviated,resulting in many conflicts with his family,and his social support network is weak.The author is committed to helping the case owner to change their misconceptions and use rational thinking to view issues;Mediate family conflicts,alleviate the anxiety of the case owner,eliminate the feud with the daughter,and obtain informal support;Encourage case owners to socialize,fill social networks,connect social resources,and empower case owners.The study found that the advantages of social work in the problem of urban widows and elderly people hindering remarriage include four aspects: casework can solve the problem in a targeted manner;Casework is confidential;Empower the people served;Proactively explore potential service recipients.The insufficient involvement of social work in urban widows and elderly people hindering remarriage is manifested in: low recognition of social work by the public,the professional quality of workers needs to be strengthened,and resource links are not in place.In view of the above shortcomings,the following three suggestions are made: improve the public’s awareness and recognition of social work,and increase the scope of services;improving the professionalism of social workers;Promote multi-party synergy,strengthen social support networks,and expand the scope of resource links for urban widows to remarry.
