Since the promulgation of the General High School Geography Curriculum Standards(2017 Edition),the issue of geography core literacy of high school students has been a hot topic,and the idea of cultivating students’ geography core literacy has become clearer and clearer in the face of a series of research results.In order to cultivate students’ geography core literacy,a large number of problem situations choose small-scale areas,and small-scale map interpretation becomes a difficult problem for students to learn geography,and the current high school geography teaching work is heavy,and teachers do not study small-scale map teaching deeply enough,therefore,this paper will discuss the realistic problems and solution strategies in small-scale map teaching from the perspective of small-scale map teaching.Through the reading of literature,the paper understands the current research status of small-scale map teaching at home and abroad,analyzes the core literacy,geographical core literacy,map and small-scale map concept analysis,using literature research method,questionnaire survey method,case research method,experimental analysis method and other methods for follow-up research.This paper takes small-scale map teaching as an entry point,uses questionnaire survey method to investigate teachers’ understanding and cognition of small-scale maps and current map learning of high school students.Students have "false learning" and insufficient implicit core literacy;students can read maps but not "fine",lacking comprehensive thinking and regional cognitive ability;geographic core literacy tests are complex and varied,making the teaching process difficult;students lack common sense in life and do not deal with the relationship between human and land.The students lacked general knowledge of life and did not deal with the relationship between human and land.In view of the problems existing in geography practice,four teaching design strategies are put forward: based on the core literacy of geography,determining the teaching objectives of small-scale map,integrating and optimizing the teaching content,flexibly applying teaching methods,and attaching importance to the teaching evaluation of the core literacy of geography.According to the teaching strategy,select the college entrance exam in 2021 in Shandong province geography exam evaluation and the development of resource-exhausted areas-Germany ruhr district,for example,two case teaching design,and grade two classes as the research object,experimental classes for small scale map teaching,reference to the conventional teaching,from the perspective of teaching effect,through the small scale map teaching,the students’ geographical core literacy has greater improvement.The innovation point of this paper is the systematic introduction of the concept of small scale map system,the design of small scale map teaching case,the proposal of small scale map teaching strategy,and the teaching practice.
