Study On The Influence Of Peer Contact On The Digital Survival Ability Of The Elderly

Population aging and life digitization has become a popular trend of human society in the 21 st century.On the one hand,it brings new opportunities for digital survival and peer renewal to the elderly,on the other hand,it also causes many survival difficulties.To explore the digital survival ability of the elderly? What are the characteristics of the effect of peer interaction on the digital survival ability of the elderly? Why does peer interaction cause changes in digital viability of the elderly? Three questions: The author collected data of 20 elderly people from S community in N City,Jiangsu Province and Y Community in S City,Sichuan Province by means of observation and in-depth interview.The author used the method of procedural grounded theory to comb the primary data and combined the existing research findings.Based on the induction and integration of the connotation and structure of the digital survivability of the elderly,This paper summarizes the current characteristics and problems of peer interaction affecting the digital survival ability of the elderly,deconstructs the internal mechanism of peer interaction affecting the digital survival ability of the elderly and proposes intervention measures.It is found that,first of all,the digital survivability of the elderly has three dimensions: digital tools,digital practices and digital literacy.At the practical level,the digital survivability of the elderly shows the characteristics of single equipment,reality and separation in the dimension of digital tools.In the dimension of digital practices,it presents the problems of broad false,limited deep cultivation and digital addiction.In the dimension of digital literacy,vulnerability features are prominent.The change of digital survivability of the elderly is influenced by peer interaction factors,non-peer interpersonal contact and social cognition and expectation of the elderly,which forms a four-dimensional ability change factor structure of the elderly peer with strong individual heterogeneity,mixed-stable peer interaction pattern,complex interaction effect and disordered environmental stimulus.Secondly,peer communication is influenced by individual and interactive factors in the changing process of the digital survival ability of the elderly.The four paths of attachment/instrumentalized mutual learning,instrumentalized/alienated island learning,attachment/alienated active lying and instrumentalized/alienated passive lying have the dual effects of peer support and peer pressure.It also reveals three kinds of dilemmas: direction deviation and effect hedging from the perspective of peer social comparison,praise discipline and emotional circle prohibition at the level of peer digital elite,and negative waiting and free-riding dependence at the level of peer digital marginals.Finally,the internal mechanism of peer interaction affecting the change of the elderly’s digital survivability conforms to the "evaluation-emotion-behavior" paradigm of the self-regulatory attitude theory.The elderly first choose different social comparison methods to judge the digital survivability or the peer relationship of self-perception in the assessment stage,and then produce two evaluation results: ability cognition and relationship perception.Then,according to the evaluation results,the emotional responses of peer attachment,peer mentalization and peer shunning were respectively generated by the elderly.Then,under the guidance of three different peer mentalities,the elderly carried out two kinds of practical actions,namely,geriatric learning or geriatric lying down,affected by assimilation effect and contrast effect.Finally,the digital survival ability of the elderly who practice learning is cultivated and optimized,while the digital survival ability of the elderly who practice lying down is constantly eroded.According to the study,to improve the digital survival ability of the elderly from the perspective of peer interaction intervention,it needs the joint efforts of the elderly themselves,the community and the government,including three aspects: normalizing the digital peer interaction of the elderly,enriching the data wisdom of peer interaction of the elderly and standardizing the subculture of peer interaction of the elderly.
