The so-called independent data collection is a kind of learning activity in which students gather,analyze and apply the required data through the Internet,library and other means proactively.Chinese Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2011 edition)clearly points out in the reading objectives and contents of the fourth section that middle school students should "be able to use the library and the Internet to collect the information and materials they need to help with reading".In the practice activities of reading and appreciation,the new version of the Chinese Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2022 edition)also takes the independent collection of materials as an important way to help reading.Both editions of the curriculum standards regard the cultivation of students’ ability to collect data independently as an important goal of reading teaching and affirm its significance for improving students’ Chinese ability.At present,Chinese reading teaching in junior middle school often emphasizes the interpretation of selected texts and ignores the cultivation of students’ ability to collect data independently.Therefore,this topic chooses students’ ability to collect data independently as the research object.This study adopts the research methods of literature research,investigation research and case analysis to obtain the status quo of junior high school students’ independent data collection ability,lock in the existing problems,study the causes,and put forward the strategy of cultivating students’ independent data collection ability in junior high school Chinese reading teaching.Specific from the following five aspects.The introduction Outlines the multiple values of cultivating students’ ability to collect information independently in reading.This part through the review of scholars’ research results,put forward the research significance of this paper,research methods.The first chapter introduces the important value of research basis and independent data collection ability to reading teaching,including three aspects of independent data collection ability can provide direction for reading teaching,control direction and extension direction,which lays a solid research foundation for this paper.The second chapter summarizes the existing problems and causes of cultivating students’ ability to collect data independently in reading teaching after questionnaires and interviews with teachers.Among them,the existing problems include teachers’ insufficient understanding of the value of ability training,students’ lack of enthusiasm and purpose,teachers’ lack of guidance methods,and students’ difficulty in collecting data independently.The causes are the influence of the traditional exam-oriented education model and the traditional classroom teaching model,the lack of systematic and scientific teaching and evaluation system and the complicated process of independent data collection.The third chapter puts forward the strategy of cultivating students’ self-collecting ability in reading teaching.First of all,teachers should make the task of data collection throughout the whole process of reading teaching and guide students to consciously pay attention to the task of independent data collection.Secondly,teachers should change students’ idea of collecting data and cultivate students’ habit of collecting data.Finally,teachers should clarify the process of independent data collection,including data acquisition,screening and sorting,and data sharing,and provide operable methods for students.The fourth chapter shows two cases combining collection tasks with reading teaching,clarifies the role of data in each link of teaching,and puts forward teaching suggestions on cultivating students’ ability to collect data independently in Chinese reading teaching.
