| With the continuous changes in the world,talent in international organizations in the context of global governance is of great significance for safeguarding national strategic interests and enhancing international influence.This study focuses on German universities to analyze the development of the global competence of students in different majors and universities,summarize a global competence model followed by them,and explore the features of German universities and derive experiences and inspirations from them.This study has adopted the literature research method,case study method,interview method,and corpus linguistic research method.Five different institutions offering international affairs-related majors and two representative universities,the University of Munich and RWTH Aachen University,have been selected for in-depth analysis.On this basis,a “Sailing Boat Model” of global competence is constructed.Moreover,German universities present the following five distinctive features in the process of cultivating global competence: the “ubiquitous” cultivation of global competence;the close combination of local knowledge and global knowledge;the partnership between different institutions at home and abroad;the full utilization of resources inside and outside the university;and the central position of student subjectivity.These features mentioned above can precisely provide a reference for the development of global competence in Chinese universities as follows: First,improve the overall policy system and guarantee measures.Second,create a “Global Competence + X” development model.Third,enhance the global competence of the faculty.Then,build a strong network between universities and social institutions.Last but not least,create an international campus atmosphere. |
