Research On Female Screen Image Construction Of Agriculture-related TV Dramas In The Past 30 Years

In recent years,mass media gradually occupy people’s life,people in the entertainment but also accept the value of the mass media influence.The cultural texts in TV series,movies and short videos are exaggerated,playful or focus on a contradiction to get people’s resonance,and also strengthen the image of the characters themselves in people’s minds.These texts choose a certain female group or a certain female image in reality to depict,strengthening the original gender concept or bringing some changes to a certain extent.In the current era of short videos,TV dramas can still occupy more broadcasting resources and appear more in the public eye.At the same time,the official early support or later award TV series can be more synonymous with the "main melody" to get more attention.Therefore,the construction and shaping of female roles in such TV dramas reflect the identification and trend of female identity in the mainstream of society to a certain extent.This is the article wants to discuss."Fence,Woman and Dog","Well,Woman and Well" and "Ancient Ship,Woman and Web" are called the "Women Trilogy"(hereinafter referred to as "Women trilogy"),"The Woman at the Helm" and "The Mountain and the Sea",in which women play an important role,in which "the Woman Trilogy" and "the Mountain and the Sea" are more of a group drama,"The Woman in Charge" is more of a biography.Among these three TV series,The Woman Trilogy won the Feitian Award in 1993 and 1989,The Woman in Charge won the first prize of the Outstanding TV series with rural themes,and Juxiang in the drama also won the crown of the Outstanding Actress of the Feitian Award in 2004.The show has won dozens of awards,including the 33 rd Feitian Award,the 31 st Golden Eagle Award and the 27 th Shanghai TV Festival.This award is the "government award" in Chinese TV series sponsored by the State Administration of Press,Publication,Radio,Film and Television(formerly the Ministry of Radio,Film and Television),which aims to present the communication framework and narrative content recognized by mainstream values.These three TV plays all won the Feitian Award,and caused a great influence at that time,became a generation of classics in people’s hearts at that time,and the "Mountain and Sea" is more for people to talk about the whole year,as the main melody of the TV play,it is indeed exciting,no longer has a strong sense of preaching,more acceptable to people.Agriculture-related TV dramas are also more resonant because they are set in the populous rural areas.From the 1990 s to the beginning of the new millennium,a large number of migrant workers flooded into the city to compete for an urban hukou.While the city gets attention,the ideological reform and construction of the countryside itself should not be ignored.At the same time,the status of women has improved significantly.But has the accepted image of women changed? Because of the theme of agriculture-related TV dramas,most of the stories are set in rural areas,especially the traditional concepts in rural areas,and the shackles imposed on women are heavier.It is for this reason that examining the vicissitude of female image of constructing a agriculture-related TV series helps to deepen cognition of female’s situation of our country.Based on Goffman’s frame theory and Foucault’s discursion-power theory this paper studies the construction and change of female images in agriculture-related TV dramas in the past 30 years,and then discusses the open issues such as whether the female images in the mainstream values in the past 30 years have brought further liberation for women or hidden bondage.This paper holds that in the past 30 years,the female images of agriculture-related TV dramas have changed from those who dare to step out of the house to those who are independent and finally to those who stand in important positions and have self-pursuit.The changes of female images reflect the changes of women’s status and images in society.The innovation point of this paper is to start with the universally recognized theme TV dramas related to agriculture.From the 1990 s to the present around 2020,three major TV dramas are selected for horizontal and vertical comparison,indicating the awakening of women under the changes of The Times in the past 30 years.The disadvantage is that the sample of the study is not rich enough.If the study can be carried out on more TV series,or expanded to include movies and literature,the research conclusions will be more convincing.
