Vernacular culture originates from vernacular societies,has unique local characteristics,and is closely related to the daily life of local people.However,with the development of urbanization,vernacular culture has been impacted by urban culture,causing it to gradually lose its luster and even leading to collective oblivion.As the government continues to strengthen the protection of traditional culture,school education is gradually adding attempts to vernacular culture,both of which have energized the development of vernacular culture in the new generation of urbanization.Vocational schools are also constantly trying to experiment with diversity and practical teaching of specialized courses that can incorporate local vernacular culture."Gansu Tour Guide",as a core course of tourism in Gansu Province,in many colleges and universities,and shoulders the responsibility of training students to love their hometown and strive to be the image ambassador of tourism in Gansu Province.Therefore,it is more important to add elements of local culture in the teaching process,so that students can learn more local knowledge in the process of learning theory,and through specific practical teaching will be digested and applied to the future workplace,in order to achieve the purpose of representing Gansu and promoting Gansu.This study takes the national policy as the guide,adopts questionnaire method and interview method to analyze the current situation of teachers and students of tourism in the middle vocational department of Lanzhou Modern Vocational College,and clarifies the realistic needs of teachers and students of the school for the practical teaching design of local culture;on this basis,the case study method is used to select the relevant knowledge points in chapter 2 "Lanzhou" of the course "Gansu Tour Guide" as the teaching content;establish the principles and plan of the practical teaching design of local culture with the theme of "tourism of hometown".On the basis of the case study method,the relevant knowledge points in the second chapter of "Lanzhou" of the course "Gansu tour guide" were selected as the teaching content,and the principles and plans of the practical teaching design of local culture were established,and the practical teaching design of local culture with the theme of "tourism in hometown" was prepared.The results showed that the design had a positive impact on students’ interest in learning and the learning effect,and helped to cultivate skilled personnel.This study is a preliminary attempt to integrate vernacular culture into the practical teaching of "Gansu Tour Guide",which provides a reference for the design of practical teaching of vernacular culture and the selection of vernacular culture content for secondary tourism courses.
