| With the rapid development of science and technology,the society has higher and higher requirements on the quality of talents.The geographic core literacy has been put on the agenda,and the regional cognitive literacy,which is an important part of the geographic core literacy,has also received unprecedented attention.The new curriculum reform of senior high school geography advocates respecting the students’ status as the main body of learning,and uses the methods of autonomy,cooperation and inquiry to cultivate students’ regional cognitive literacy.The situational,thinking,practical,autonomous and cooperative characteristics of inquiry-based teaching are beneficial to stimulate students’ interest and in-depth study of regional geography.The use of inquiry-based teaching is conducive to constructing students’ regional geographic knowledge system and cultivating students’ regional cognitive ability.Therefore,it has good theoretical and practical significance to explore the cultivation of regional cognitive strategies for high school students by means of inquiry-based teaching.On the basis of sorting out research results at home and abroad,this paper defines the connotation of inquiry-based teaching and regional cognitive literacy,and analyzes the necessity,feasibility and function of using inquiry-based teaching to cultivate students’ regional cognition.Through a questionnaire survey of some students in two high schools in Xinxian County,Xinyang City and interviews with front-line geography teachers,the investigation of the situation of inquiry-based teaching in cultivating students’ regional cognition found that:(1)The basic knowledge system of students’ regional geography is not perfect,and the regional knowledge system is not perfect.Cognitive method transfer ability is weak.(2)Students do not have a deep understanding of inquiry-based teaching,and do not cooperate with teachers’ inquiry-based teaching.(3)In the process of regional inquiry learning,it is difficult to balance students’ independent inquiry and classroom efficiency.(4)In the exploration of regional geographic issues,the effect of students’ cooperative exploration needs to be improved.(5)Teachers lack the integrated design of regional inquiry teaching materials.Based on the current situation investigation and existing problems,combined with the teaching practice,the following teaching strategies are proposed:(1)Pre-class preparation is the key to inquiry teaching.Teachers need to accurately grasp the regional cognitive goals,clarify the teaching ideas of inquiry,and design regional inquiry cases.Schools and related departments should increase the construction of geography teaching resources and infrastructure.(2)Guide students’ attention,balance students’ independent inquiry and regional teaching classroom efficiency.(3)Taking students as the main body,carrying out inquiry teaching is the key point.Inquiry teaching should be carried out along the lines of determining the topic of inquiry,grasping the direction of regional cognition,creating an inquiry situation to arouse interest in regional cognition,implementing inquiry activities to implement regional inquiry,summarizing the results of inquiry to build a regional cognition system,and evaluating the effect of feedback on regional cognition in the process of inquiry.(4)Teachers should refine regional cognitive methods in a timely manner to promote regional inquiry transfer.Finally,according to the proposed specific teaching strategies,teaching design is carried out in terms of teaching process and teaching cases.The teaching process includes determining the theme of regional inquiry,creating an inquiry situation,implementing inquiry teaching activities,summarizing inquiry results,evaluating inquiry teaching,and transferring and applying.The teaching case is taken as an example of "Analysis of Agricultural Location Factors" in Chapter 3,Section 2,Section 2,Compulsory Course of Geography in Senior High Schools of the Hunan Education Edition.Taking "green" as an example,the teaching design of agricultural location factors is carried out. |
