The 20 th National Congress of Communist Party of China has pointed out that China has become an innovative country with its increasingly improving basic research and original innovative capability.Promote the high-quality development of scientific and technological innovation and accelerated transfer of scientific and technological results and the upgrading of regional industrial structure is beneficial to the transformation from old growth drivers to new ones as well as the high-quality development of our economy.Therefore,it has become a major subject for sustainable growth to study how to promote the coordinated development of the transfer of scientific and technological results and the upgrading of regional industrial structure.On the basis of the current situation of the transformation efficiency of scientific and technological results of universities and the upgrading of regional industrial structure,this paper sets up an comprehensive evaluation index system for the efficiency of the transformation of scientific and technological results and the upgrading of the industrial structure,and detected the efficiency of the transformation of science and technology results of universities,the comprehensive evaluation index of the upgrading of industrial structure in 2016-2020,and the coupling coordination degree between them.The temporal and spatial features of the coupling degree of the two systems are investigated.It is indicated that:(1)The overall transformation efficiency of the scientific and technological results of China’s universities is improving.Development of the transformation of scientific and technological achievements in the western region is better than that in the eastern and central regions.And the basic research efficiency in the first stage is of the lowest level in the whole process of transformation of scientific and technological achievements,and the efficiency of applied research in phase two is the best.(2)The industrial structure is constantly upgraded,showing a regional difference of “Eastern region leading the development trend,central region keeping up with the development and western region lagging behind”.(3)There is an obvious fluctuation in the coupling degree between the efficiency of scientific and technological results and the upgrading of the regional industrial structure,and the dynamic interaction degree between the two remains to be increased.In terms of phases,the coupling degree between the efficiency of the transformation of scientific and technological results and the upgrading of the regional industrial structure is the lowest in the basic research phase,and the highest in the applied research phase.From the perspective of space,the coupling degree between the efficiency of the transformation of scientific and technological results and the upgrading of the regional industry structure in the east is relatively higher,while it is still at a lower level in the middle and west regions.Finally,according to the empirical results and the existing problems in the transformation efficiency of scientific and technological results and the upgrading of the industry structure,the paper gives some advice.
