The notion of core literacy is introduced in the 2022 version of the Physical Education and Health Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education.One of the hot issues that the entire society is focusing on is how to increase students’ health behavioural literacy through school health education in the post-epidemic age,and it is also a fundamental issue in the reform of school physical education and health curriculum.This paper took the strategy of improving the health behavior literacy of junior high school students in Yuhang District,Hangzhou as the research object,and took students,teachers,education and teaching situation,management,and curriculum of junior high school in Yuhang District,Hangzhou as the scope of the investigation,and used the literature method,field observation method,questionnaire survey method,mathematical and statistical method,and logical analysis method to investigate and research.The two elements of lifestyle and behavior,health knowledge and application were used to understand the health behavior literacy of junior high school students in Yuhang District;the elements of faculty for health education,time arrangement of classes,education modes,and evaluation methods were used to understand the development of health education in junior high school in Yuhang District.By analyzing and studying several factors that affect the development of health behavior literacy among junior high school students in Yuhang District,this paper summarized and proposed strategies to effectively improve the health behavior literacy of these students.Through research and analysis,this paper drew the following conclusions: the faculty for health education in junior high schools in Yuhang District was relatively strong,with a high percentage of physical education teachers having graduate degrees,and 73.0% of teachers believing that the health education teaching activities carried out in their schools can meet the needs of students.Junior high school students had a good lifestyle and behavior,they did not smoke or drink alcohol,had good eating behavior,were able to achieve a balanced diet,and only 10.0% of them consumed junk food.In terms of mental health,most of the students were able to regulate their bad emotions through physical exercise,and the third graders performed better than the first and second graders.According to the study results,the following improvement strategies were proposed: school leadership should pay attention to health education in schools,provide sufficient funding and equipment for health education courses,support the development of health education,regularly provide professional training for teachers responsible for health education,and actively create a cultural atmosphere for health education on campus;teachers should grasp the core curriculum literacy,change their teaching philosophy,and innovate in teaching methods to stimulate students’ interests in health education classes,thus improving teaching quality.Society should establish a national health awareness,shape the social health environment,expand the publicity of health knowledge and skills,and guide junior high school students to actively participate in physical exercise and health knowledge learning.
