In the twenty-first century, people pay more attention to health, and health is not only a new concept for the sound development of society, but also a campaign for the social harmony. In economic society, health plays an important role for the development of man and society, so the government of every country attaches great importance to the issue of health.Children and young people are the essential part of development, and they need a safe, healthy environment for their academic and social development. In the actions, schools are the important places for students' forming the health concept and undertaking healthy actions. So the health education policies and standards are one of the most significant parts of basic education reform and development in every country.School health education is an important content for developing culture and education policies or health education policies in a country, the health education methods that schools used to make children and young people master the correct knowledge and skills and form the right attitudes behaviors on health are also very important. So health education standards are prior to health education policies for every government. And the reform on basic education in our country needs to enhance the research in this field.America is the earliest country and has the greatest efficiency on health education. And the country provides many experiences on policy development, concept and practices for many other countries, which do a lot of research on American health education and learn from it. State Health Education Standards were modeled after National Health Education Standards, which demonstrate the characters of school health education. South Dakota Health Education Standards are one of the represents.South Dakota Health Education Standards have substantial contents including k-12 grades. In our country ,it is the weak field in high school health education, and there is little research in it. The paper just analyzes Health Education Standards from 9 to 12 grades. Through the study and analysis of South Dakota 9-12 grades' Health Education Standards, we can get to know how school health education standards help develop students who are health literate, and promote the overall quality of the students. Experiences of American school health education can be used for our reform and development in this area, offer consultative service for developing school health education standards in our county, and contribute to the reform on curricula standards of school health education.
