Children’s social development is an important aspect of children’s growth from natural person to social person.Social development has an important influence on individuals at present and in the future.3-6 years old is the key period of individual social development.Through literature review,it is found that sand constructional play can promote children’s social development,but the research is mostly based on the experience level,and there is a lack of quantitative evaluation scale to observe children’s social development in sand constructional play.Based on this,this study developed the Social Evaluation Scale for 3-6 Years Old Children’s Sand Constructional Play.Sand constructional play is the improvement of sand play such as playing sand games and sand pool play.This study uses the prepared evaluation scale to set up the experimental group and the control group of sand constructional play and sand pool play to explore the influence of sand constructional play on children’s social development,and 20 children each in the experimental and control groups.At the same time,Nvivo11 qualitative software is used to analyze the differences in children’s playing behaviors in sand constructional play and sand pool play.The study reached the following conclusions:(1)The Social Evaluation Scale for 3-6 Years Old Children’s Sand Constructional Play has good reliability and validity.The scale consists of 4 first-level dimensions and 19 second-level dimensions.The reliability of each dimension of the scale is greater than 0.85,and the overall reliability of the scale is 0.931,greater than 0.9.Moreover,the content validity and structure validity of the scale are good,which meets the requirements of psychometrics.It can be seen that this evaluation scale can be used to observe the social development of children in sand constructional play,and can provide evaluation scales for children’s social development and other related studies.(2)Both sand constructional play and sand pool play can promote children’s social development,but compared with sand pool play,sand constructional play can better promote children’s social development.Nvivo qualitative analysis software was used to encode children’s play behaviors in sand constructional play and sand pool play.The research results showed that the number of coding nodes of children’s social behavior and cognitive play behaviors in sand constructional play were higher than those in sand pool play,and children’s positive behaviors in sand constructional play were more than those in sand pool play.It shows that the interaction between children and children and between children and the environment is more frequent and positive,and the sand constructional play can promote the development of children in all aspects.
