Self esteem is an individual’s positive evaluation and experience of their own value,and the development of individual self-esteem has a significant impact on social adaptation and mental health.The development of self-esteem in young children is influenced by individual and external environmental factors,among which the family,as the micro environment closest to their growth,has a significant impact on the development of self-esteem in young children.Parents are the most important part of the family environment.Their Parenting styles,the parent-child relationship with children and children’s own Psychological resilience all have an important impact on the development of children’s self-esteem.Therefore,this study explores the impact of parents’ mindfulness on children’s self-esteem,and further explores the role of parent-child relationship and children’s Psychological resilience in the relationship between the two,so as to help parents improve their mindfulness awareness,form a good parent-child relationship with children,attach importance to cultivating children’s good adaptability to adverse situations,and promote the development of children’s self-esteem.This study investigated 555 young children and their parents from 6kindergartens in a certain city,and used research methods such as literature review and questionnaire to investigate the relationship between the four.The following main conclusions were drawn:(1)There are significant differences in self-esteem among young children in terms of gender and parental occupation;There are significant differences in parental mindfulness in terms of educational level,occupation,and average monthly income of parents;There are significant differences in parent-child relationships among young children in terms of gender;There are significant differences in children’s Psychological resilience in children’s gender,parents’ education level,parents’ occupation and family monthly average income.(2)The four variables of parents’ mindfulness,parent-child relationship,children’s Psychological resilience and children’s self-esteem are significantly correlated in pairs.Among them,parent-child affinity is significantly positively correlated with parents’ mindfulness,children’s Psychological resilience and children’s self-esteem;Parent child conflict is negatively correlated with parents’ mindfulness,children’s Psychological resilience,and children’s self-esteem.(3)Parent child relationship and children’s Psychological resilience play a completely mediating role between parental mindfulness and children’s self-esteem,respectively.(4)Parent child relationship and children’s Psychological resilience play a chain mediating role between parental mindfulness and children’s self-esteem.Given the results of this study,this study proposes strategies and suggestions from both the family and kindergarten perspectives,aiming to help parents and kindergartens form good home cooperation and jointly promote the development of young children’s self-esteem.In family education,parents should first change their own Parenting styles and improve the level of mindfulness;Secondly,parents should cultivate good parent-child relationships to provide a warm family environment for the development of children’s self-esteem;Finally,parents should consciously cultivate their children’s resilience and promote the development of their self-esteem.Kindergartens should help parents improve their awareness of mindfulness and nurturing,establish good parent-child relationships with their children,and attach importance to cultivating their resilience.At the same time,kindergartens should also carry out corresponding activities to promote the development of children’s self-esteem.
