| The development of a sense of rhythm is an important element of kindergarten music education. For older children, who are at a critical stage of rhythmic development, percussion activities in which children can perceive and express musical rhythms and develop a good sense of rhythm are also of great value to their physical and mental development. However,in practice, there are problems such as poor implementation and difficulties for children to understand the elements of music. For this reason, this study takes into account the age characteristics of older children and uses diagrams to help children understand abstract musical elements in percussion activities and to reduce the difficulties of teachers in organising and implementing them. The main line of this study is action research. All children in the first class of a public kindergarten in P were selected as the subjects of the study, and the observation and interview methods were used to supplement the action research. The educational concepts of Orff,Dalcroze and Kodály on developing children’s sense of rhythm were used as the theoretical basis for this study, and the use of diagrams was designed to help children perceive and express musical rhythm through vocal gestures and instrument playing. On this basis,a number of group teaching activities and area activities were designed around the three rounds of action research, with group teaching activities as the main focus and area activities and other educational activities as a supplement, following the action line of "plan-act-reflect-act again".The results of the study show that the use of charts in percussion activities can effectively promote children’s perception and performance of rhythm, intensity and tempo, and that children’s creative expression is greatly enhanced. The study also offers suggestions for the design and presentation of charts, the design and organisation of percussion activities and strategies for developing children’s sense of rhythm. Finally, reflections on the whole action research are presented and perspectives are offered. |
