In recent years,the community has paid more and more attention to the issue of fathers’ participation in child rearing.For children with special needs aged 3-6,fathers’ participation in their rearing plays an important role in language development,improvement of symbolic play,emotional understanding and expression,and social interaction;fathers’ participation in the rearing of children with special needs is also necessary to relieve the pressure of mothers’ rearing of children with special needs and to promote harmony in the families of children with special needs.However,in real life,most of the children with special needs are raised by their mothers,and the role of fathers is missing in the research and practice of children with special needs.In this paper,we use a combination of questionnaires and interviews to investigate the current situation of fathers’ involvement in the parenting of children with special needs aged3-6 years old,analyze the deep-seated reasons affecting fathers’ involvement in parenting,and finally propose feasible strategies to improve fathers’ involvement in the parenting of children with special needs.First,investigate the status of fathers’ involvement.This study is based on the questionnaire of fathers’ participation in the education of special children aged 3-6,to understand the status of fathers’ participation in the education of special children.This paper studies the basic situation of father,the cognition of Father’s participation in special children’s education,the time of participation,the content of participation,and the dilemma of father’s participation in education.The content of father’s participation is divided into three dimensions: daily accompany,life care,education and rehabilitation.Secondly,by using the method of objective sampling,six fathers of special children with different types of disabilities were selected and interviewed according to the degree of fathers’ participation.From the father’s personal,family,school and social factors of four aspects were analyzed.Finally,countermeasures to improve fathers’ participation in the parenting of children with special needs are proposed.The researcher proposes countermeasures to improve fathers’ participation in parenting in terms of raising awareness,securing time,and strengthening content.Specifically,they include: First,Raising awareness of fathers’ parenting.The government should strengthen legislative protection;society should play a role in guiding public opinion;schools should publicize the importance of fathers’ roles;family members should change their attitudes;and fathers themselves should raise their ideological awareness.Second,to protect the father’s parenting time.Government policies help;schools flexibly design parenting activities;family members create opportunities for fathers to participate in parenting;fathers themselves make full use of effective time.Third,strengthen the content of fathering.The government standardizes training on fathers’ duties;schools provide individual help and guidance;family members work together to improve parenting skills;fathers themselves strengthen their participation in parenting content.
