With the development of our national economy and the change of the social structure, grand parents raising grandchildren is a widespread education and social phenomena in our society. There are many younger children in grandparents'family, especially in rural areas. Modern scientific research shows that0-3-year plays an extremely important role in one's life. So grandparents' teaching must deeply impact on the development of children. This study investigates the problem on the0-3-year old infants and children's grandparents in rural areas, demonstrates the real situation of infants and young children in rural areas and appeals to the society concerning about the grandparents'raising of0-3-year old children in the rural area. The research has a certain theoretical and practical significance.This research drawn on the domestic and foreign literatures, from the view of sociological perspective, using sociological theory, social role theory, family systems theory and so on, taking0-3-year old infants and grandparents in the rural area,which is in K county of Chongqing city, as the object for study.The investigation used purposive sampling on the117grandparents' questionnaires; through interviews, observations and other methods, insighted into these families, collected the most realistic first-line information of10inter-generational families, and showed the status quo of the grandparents'raising in the rural areas of the southwest. The study found that rural grandparents payed more attention to raising and ignored education. Their parenting was relatively backward, parenting behavior was unscientific, and parenting content was one-sided.They focused on the infants'body healthy but ignored the mental healthy. They focused on the knowledge of culture and education but underestimate motor skills training and the development of interest in activities. They focused on moral polite education but ignored the habits and customs. They focused on safety protection but was lack of safety education. In this study, in-depth analysis will be done from the traditional socio-cultural, social factors, family internal factors, as well as educated people factor under the perspective of sociology based on the current situation and problems.At last, there are some recommendations to create social support system to improve the quality of grandparents'upbringing. That includes:Local government created a macro-social support system, promoting the parents of infants nearby employment, bridging the parent-child bond; The community created middle layer of social support systems, increasing early education propaganda, enhancing parents' awareness and implementing the parenting responsibilities; Social workers created micro-social support system, entering to the grandparent-upbringing families and helping infants parenting one-on-one.
