| The widespread use of short videos in teaching and learning has resulted in an increasingly significant advantage of their classroom applications.This has led to a multitude of related studies that have made significant contributions to education.However,geographic procedural knowledge remains a challenging area in geography teaching,as it requires a high level of learners’ abilities.Therefore,teachers need to use high-quality resources to effectively address the important and difficult problems in geography teaching to maximize the value of short video applications.Therefore,this paper increases the strength and depth of research on short video-assisted junior high school geography classroom teaching based on the existing research,understands the current situation of short video application in teaching,and discusses the suggestions and strategies of short video-assisted junior high school geography procedural knowledge teaching,so as to promote the optimal effect of integrating short video with classroom teaching.This paper focuses on the following contents:First,by sorting out the current situation of domestic and foreign research on various types of video resources to assist classroom teaching,the main research questions of this study are clarified,and the scope and subject of the study are determined.Relevant concepts are defined through literature research method,to clarify the concept of short videos and the classification of geographic procedural knowledge.Meanwhile,this study will be based on contextual teaching theory,constructivist learning theory,tower of experience theory,and cognitive theory of multimedia learning in order to establish the connection between short videos and procedural knowledge of geography in junior high school and to illustrate the feasibility of applying short videos in teaching.On the basis of establishing the theoretical support of this study,the significance of short videos for teaching procedural knowledge is further proposed.Second,a questionnaire survey was conducted for junior high school geography teachers to understand the current situation of the application of short videos in teaching procedural knowledge of junior high school geography,and the data obtained were compiled and analyzed.On this basis,further interview outlines were designed and in-depth interviews were conducted to explore teachers’ evaluation of and difficulties with short videos to assist middle school geography teaching.Based on the findings,the application strategies for integrating short videos with junior high school geography teaching are proposed.Third,the teaching practice is carried out by assessing students’ academic performance to explore the application value of short videos to assist the teaching of procedural knowledge in junior high school geography.The application strategies proposed in this paper are applied in the process of practice to conduct lessons,so as to verify the feasibility of the application strategies proposed in this paper and the effectiveness of short videos in teaching different classes of procedural knowledge.It was found that the reasonable use of various types of short videos in teaching procedural knowledge of junior high school geography has a positive supporting effect on the classroom,especially in the teaching of geographic features and geographic laws.In conclusion,this study aims to promote the application of short videos in junior high school geography classrooms and gradually form a set of regular teaching concepts and models. |
