In recent years,the physical fitness level of children and adolescents in China has improved to some extent,but the overall physical health condition is still far from satisfying.The promotion of extracurricular physical activities on the physical and mental health of children and adolescents has been confirmed in various aspects,and the generation of their physical activity behavior outside class is influenced by various factors such as environmental atmosphere and important people’s support.The junior high school stage is a "golden period" to promote the healthy development of teenagers’ physique.Classes are also the main places for junior high school students to live and learn daily.However,there is no unified conclusion on the impact of the class exercise atmosphere and the support of the class adviser on their extracurricular physical activity behaviors.In view of this,this article will conduct a survey among junior high school students from 8 junior high schools in 4 districts of Shenzhen City,and then investigate their extracurricular physical activity behaviors based on previous research.During this process,the scales on class exercise atmosphere,class adviser’s support,sports enjoyment,exercise self-efficacy,and also a rating scale for physical activities were used as research tools to analyze the impact of class exercise atmosphere and class adviser’s support on extracurricular physical activity behavior of junior high school students.In addition,this paper explores the mediating and chain mediating effects of sports enjoyment and exercise self-efficacy in the impact of class exercise atmosphere and class adviser’s support on extracurricular physical activities among junior high school students,in order to provide supporting theories for promoting junior high school students’ participation in extracurricular physical activities.The specific research conclusions are as follows:(1)The overall extracurricular physical activity behavior of junior high school students is at a lower middle level,and there is still significant room for improvement in the proportion of small and large amounts of exercise.From the perspective of gender,there are significant differences in extracurricular physical activities among junior high school students,with activity behavior level level of boys being higher than girls.From the perspective of grades,there are also dramatic differences in extracurricular physical activities,with that level of students in eighth grade are higher than students in seventh grade.(2)The research results show that class exercise atmosphere exerts a positive predictive effect on sports enjoyment and exercise self-efficacy,while sports enjoyment also imposes a positive predictive effect on exercise self-efficacy.And class exercise atmosphere,sports enjoyment,and exercise self-efficacy all have a positive predictive effect on extracurricular physical activity behaviors of junior high school students.(3)The research results show that class adviser’s support exerts a positive predictive effect on sports enjoyment,but it has no predictive effect on exercise self-efficacy.At the same time,sports enjoyment brings a positive predictive effect on students’ exercise selfefficacy.Class adviser’s support,sports enjoyment,and exercise self-efficacy all show a positive predictive effect on extracurricular physical activity behaviors of junior high school students.(4)The influence of class exercise atmosphere on junior high school students’ extracurricular physical activities can be directly exerted without any mediation,or indirectly exerted through the mediation of sports enjoyment and exercise self-efficacy.The indirect impact here is specifically related to three mediating paths including the mediating path of sports enjoyment,the mediating path of exercise self-efficacy,and the chain mediating path of sports enjoyment and exercise self-efficacy.As for the sports behavior intervention of junior high school students,we can start from creating a good class exercise atmosphere to improve junior high school students’ sports enjoyment level,promote their exercise self-efficacy,and then further enhance their extracurricular sports activity behaviors in the future.(5)The impact of class adviser’s support on junior high school students’ extracurricular physical activities can also be both direct and indirect.The indirect impact is generated through the mediating effect of sports enjoyment on junior high school students’ extracurricular physical activities,specifically involving two mediating paths including the mediating path of sports enjoyment and the chain mediating path between sports enjoyment and exercise self-efficacy.As for the sports behavior intervention of junior high school students,we can start by increasing the support from class advisers,upgrade junior high school students’ sports enjoyment level,improve their exercise selfefficacy,and further enhance their extracurricular sports activities behaviors in the future.
