Mathematics homework is a mathematical task assigned by teachers for students to complete during non-teaching time, which is an important part of the mathematics teaching process. It supplements the teaching of mathematics.Since the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the state has always attached great importance to the issue of students’ learning burden. With the gradual recognition of "quality education",the old concept of homework can no longer keep up with the pace of modern education and human development. At the same time, the "double reduction" policy introduced in 2021 has once again brought the issue of students’ homework to the forefront of public attention, and homework optimization must be carried out. This thesis was written one year after the implementation of the "double reduction" policy and examines the following three issues: What is the current status of the design and feedback of junior high school mathematics homework? What problems exist in junior high school mathematics homework? What optimization measures can be taken to solve the current problems? This thesis summarizes the domestic and international research on the "double reduction" policy, the importance and purpose of homework, the type and content of homework, and the quantity and difficulty of homework. The theoretical basis of the article is the theory of multiple intelligence, the theory of the nearest developmental zone, and the theory of constructivism. This thesis used questionnaire and interview to conduct a survey study of 394 students in three junior high schools in Tianjin and 96 mathematics teachers in Region D.After sorting out the results of questionnaires and interviews with teachers and students,we found that after the implementation of the "double reduction" policy, some aspects of the design of mathematics homework in junior high school have changed:Current mathematics teachers have some understanding of the "double reduction" policy; The number of math homework are appropriate;Students can learn the wrong questions. But we also found some problems: Math homework focuses on knowledge learning;Lack of innovation and emphasis on written form;Single source of operation and weak awareness of independent design;Homework stratification is not clear enough and difficult to integrate into daily teaching;Simple way to evaluate assignments and insufficient motivation for assignments;Teacher development platform is not perfect and teachers need to enhance the awareness of discussion. In view of the problems found, the author proposes the following optimization strategies based on the relevant requirements under the current "double reduction" background:Deepen math teachers’ understanding of the "double reduction" policy, and the school improved the homework management and reward system;Strengthen the awareness of discussion, communication and cooperation among math teachers;Design a variety of types and content of math homework based on homework objectives, such as pre-learning homework, graded homework, practical homework, reflective homework;Change evaluation mindset, flexible evaluation methods and enriching teaching methods.According to the above strategies, the author designed an homework case and got positive feedback from students. |
