Research On The Educational Role Of Graduate Tutors

Graduate tutors are mentors for graduate students,shouldering the lofty mission of cultivating high-level innovative talents.They have their own educational advantages and play an extremely important role in educating people.They are an indispensable and important force in the ideological and political education of graduate students.With the implementation of the spirit of "Opinions on Strengthening and Improving Ideological and Political Work in the New Era" and "Opinions on Strengthening and Improving Ideological and Political Work in Colleges and Universities under the New Situation" issued by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council,in the practical process of implementing the concept of "three complete education" and constructing the "ten major education systems",various colleges and universities attach great importance to ideological and political work,and ideological and political work in colleges and universities has become the "lifeline" of all work in schools.Graduate ideological and political education is an important component of ideological and political work in universities,directly related to the completion of the goal of cultivating graduate students with both moral integrity and talent in the new era.According to the new requirements of the fundamental task of establishing morality and cultivating people,and in combination with the specific practical experience of various universities in the ideological and political work of graduate students,this article conducts an in-depth study of the educational role of graduate tutors and their development paths,with the aim of further clarifying and exerting the educational role of tutors,and strengthening and improving the ideological and political work of graduate students in the new era.Based on the collection and analysis of relevant literature and data on graduate ideological and political work,this paper mainly uses the literature research method,interview method,and daily experience communication to study the relevant concepts,significance,problems,causes,and how to better play the role of graduate tutors in educating people.Firstly,starting with the connotation of the role of mentors in educating people,it is clarified that the role of mentors in educating people includes four aspects:improving the ideological and political quality of graduate students,guiding graduate students to abide by academic ethics,guiding graduate students to enhance their sense of social responsibility,and promoting the physical and mental health development of graduate students.Moreover,it is clarified that the inevitable requirements for postgraduate mentors to play a role in educating people in implementing their duties of establishing morality and cultivating people,as well as the objective needs for improving the quality of graduate students’ ideological and political work The importance of effective means to promote the comprehensive development of graduate students.The paper then discusses the four aspects of the inadequate role of graduate tutors in educating people,including emphasizing scientific research guidance over value guidance,emphasizing academic assistance over humanistic care,emphasizing general guidance over personalized education,and emphasizing individual influence over collaborative education.Investigating the reasons,the paper points out that the main reasons are the weak awareness of tutors in educating people,the limitations of their abilities,and the imperfect mechanism for their role in educating people.Based on the above problems and reasons,this paper proposes three practical paths to enhance the ability and awareness of mentors to educate people,innovate the ways and methods of mentoring,and strengthen the institutional guarantee of mentoring.
