The General High School Ideology and Politics Curriculum Standard(2020 edition)clearly proposes "using a variety of curriculum resources to expand students’ horizons" and emphasizes that "the selection and use of materials should not only be close to students’ lives,but also reflect the new developments in contemporary social progress and the new achievements in scientific and technological development."(1)Current affairs materials not only highlight the reality of social development and change,but also are closely related to students’ lives.As an important curriculum resource for high school ideology and politics classes,current affairs materials have unique advantages for widening students’ horizons and leading them to identify with and practice socialist core values.So,how can teachers of high school ideology and politics class use current affairs materials more scientifically and effectively in teaching? In order to study this problem,the author read the relevant literature,based on research,to determine the basic research idea of this paper,that is,first of all,to explore the connotation of current affairs materials and their importance for the teaching of high school ideological and political science class.Then,the problems are analyzed in the four aspects of selecting,presenting,analyzing,summarizing and extending the current affairs materials,and explore the strategies of selecting current affairs materials in teaching high school ideology and politics classes.Based on the above ideas,this paper consists of the following five main parts.The first part defines current affairs materials and their related concepts,introduces the characteristics of current affairs materials,and focuses on the importance and basic procedures of selecting current affairs materials for high school ideology and politics classes.The second part analyzes the problems that arise in the selection of current affairs materials and proposes selection strategies.The selection of current affairs materials is the first step,and this part focuses on the basis and ways of selecting current affairs materials.The third part analyzes the problems in the presentation of current affairs materials and proposes presentation strategies.The presentation of current affairs materials directly affects the teaching effect.This part focuses on the presentation of current affairs materials,the timing of presentation,and the complementary aspects and explanations needed when presenting current affairs materials.The fourth part analyzes the problems that arise in the analysis of current affairs materials and proposes analysis strategies.The analysis of current affairs materials is a key part of classroom teaching,and this part focuses on how to set up questions when analyzing current affairs materials,what methods can be used,and the basic requirements for analysis.The fifth part analyzes the problems of summarizing and extending current affairs materials,and proposes strategies for summarizing and extending.This part focuses on the ways and basic requirements of using current affairs materials for summarizing and extending teaching.
