High School Ideology and Politics Curriculum Standards need to cultivate students’ disciplinary core literacies such as political identity,scientific spirit,awareness of the rule of law and public participation.And the connotation of political identity of Chinese citizens includes:supporting the leadership of the Communist Party of China,adhering to and developing socialism with Chinese characteristics,identifying with the People’s Republic of China(national identity),the Chinese nation(ethnic identity),and Chinese culture(cultural identity),and carrying forward and practicing the core socialist values.The thesis takes identification with the People’s Republic of China(national identity)as the cut-off point of the study.National identity is a concrete expression of citizens’ belonging to the country in terms of rational cognition and emotional attitude as well as responsible behavior,which mainly includes institutional identity,cultural identity,identity,historical identity and geographical identity.High school students are the hope of the country’s future development,shouldering the important responsibility of national rejuvenation and national prosperity,and they are at the critical stage of forming values,outlook on life and worldview,therefore,the target cultivation of national identity of high school students is intended to highlight the value of discipline education.The authors make use of such special learning materials as typical current affairs resources in the teaching process of high school Civics class;they use specific methods such as thematic activities,character narratives and classical readings to focus on five aspects of cultivating national identity;they mainly use methods such as classroom ethnography and classroom observation method in their research,which are rooted in real high school students’ Civics classroom,and develop a new type of class using typical current affairs resources to cultivate high school students’ national identity.The research aims to achieve the purpose of using curriculum resources to educate people.The thesis consists of six parts: Introduction,Chapter 1,Chapter 2,Chapter 3,Chapter 4,and Conclusion.The introductory section gives the background of the problem,literature research and research design.The first chapter mainly explains the meaning of current political resources and national identity,discusses the frontier theories of national identity in four socialist countries,and lays the foundation for the subsequent writing.The second chapter elaborates the principles that should be followed and the practical significance of cultivating national identity of high school students with typical current affairs resources in high school Civics teaching.The principles are: unity of ideology and science;unity of practicality and ideology;unity of typicality and diversity.Its practical significance is: effectively articulating the content of national identity;ensuring the political element of national identity guidance;and broadening the channels for cultivating students’ national identity.Chapter 3 elaborates the goals,contents and classroom practices of cultivating national identity among high school students.Its objectives are: to cultivate high school students’ rational cognition,emotional attitude and behavioral performance of national identity;its contents are:institutional identity,cultural identity,identity,historical identity and geographical identity,and the contents of national identity of high school students are cultivated with classroom practice.In chapter four,in view of the problems found in teaching practice,and in light of our own teaching experience,we propose three optimization paths to improve teachers’ "disciplinary thinking",to make use of current affairs resources to carry out teaching activities,and to develop and utilize current affairs resources together to cultivate students’ national identity in order to promote the cultivation of students’ national identity with typical current affairs resources.The conclusion discusses the results of the thesis.The concluding remarks discuss the results of the thesis,its flaws and future prospects.
