Taking the initiative to set up a new street in the relocation and resettlement site for poverty alleviation,set up a social work and volunteer service station,and promote the social governance and service focus to move down to the grass-roots level,which is a practical exploration for civil affairs to provide a solid guarantee for poverty alleviation and do a good job in the follow-up support of relocation for poverty alleviation.However,the social work in the development stage generally has low social awareness,social workers’ sense of social value and group self-esteem.Especially the front-line social workers working in the social work and volunteer service stations in the relocation sites for poverty alleviation are prone to professional self-confidence and identity dilemma due to the influence of many factors such as region,working environment and working objects.Through in-depth interviews with front-line social workers and some civil affairs staff in the social work and volunteer service stations in the relocation sites for poverty alleviation,this study analyzes the identity dilemma and change process of social workers in the relocation sites for Poverty Alleviation under the analysis framework of social identity theory.This study focuses on the identity challenges and dilemmas encountered by social workers in the relocation and resettlement sites for poverty alleviation,and analyzes the strategies taken by social workers to deal with the identity challenges at the initial stage of the project.By comparing it with the positive discrimination behavior under the inter group comparison dimension in the theoretical analysis framework of social identity,it is concluded that the behavioral logic behind social workers’ identity crisis is the Enlightenment of social workers’ unclear cognition of their professional core competence.It is concluded that the strategies adopted by social workers in the middle and late stages of the project to deal with the challenge of identity are more effective than those adopted in the early stages of the project.In order to improve the core competitiveness of social workers and strengthen the identity of social workers,it is necessary to cultivate the identity of social workers’ students at the educational level and follow the values of social work;At the practical level,social workers are required to strengthen the application and learning of professional methods and skills;Increase support and publicity at the social level to improve the public awareness of the social work specialty.
