With the advent of an aging population and the fact that the average life expectancy of women is generally higher than that of men,the number of widowed elderly women is increasing,and many scholars have studied this group in terms of psychological problems,social support networks,life problems and spiritual comfort.Spiritual aging is an important issue to ensure the old people’s life in their later years.Spiritual aging mainly includes the old people’s own spiritual support,the family’s spiritual support and the external spiritual support of the society.Based on this,this paper takes the issue of spiritual retirement of urban elderly widowed women as the research theme.Due to the special nature of the loss of a spouse,elderly widowed women are more likely to have spiritual problems that affect their daily life.If social workers intervene to guide them,they can help them achieve the combination of spiritual self-support,spiritual support and spiritual support to resist the crisis of widowhood.In this study,through exploring the stage mental problems and needs of elderly widowed women,and under the guidance of strengths perspective and social support theory,we analyze the stage intervention path of social workers to firstly,timely receive cases and provide emotional relief;secondly,guide the clients to establish the awareness of self-support and emphasize family support;finally,help the clients to reconstruct the support network to achieve"helping others to help themselves"."Finally,we help clients to reconstruct their support network to help themselves.The aim is to help elderly widowed women establish internal and external support networks and achieve mental health to resist the crisis of widowhood with their own strength.To sum up,social workers’ intervention should fully respect the clients’ own will,and help elderly widowed women to clarify their own value,pay attention to their spiritual needs and act spontaneously in self-support;emphasize the role of family in support,and pay attention to the emotional support given by family to the elderly;coordinate external cooperation in support,with top-level design by the government,community as the carrier,absorbing the help of social organizations,and multiple subjects In the area of support,we will coordinate external cooperation,with the government’s top-level design,the community as the carrier,and the involvement of social organizations.
