In the context of urbanization and aging,the widowed elderly living alone have become a special group of socially disadvantaged groups that need urgent attention.In the process of aging,the elderly are also facing a series of changes in various aspects,such as widowed incidents,changes in family structure,and changes in family and social roles.What follows is that widowed elderly people who live alone need to be satisfied in all aspects demand.The widowed elderly living alone have the basic characteristics of the two disadvantaged groups:widowed and living alone.After experiencing the widowhood,the elderly have undergone major changes in both physical and psychological aspects.The sense of loss,helplessness and loneliness has become stronger,and their lives are chaotic.Preface,confused about the future,prone to depression.In addition,the elderly live alone and lack the company and care of their children.In life,material needs are more satisfied,and spiritual and cultural needs are seriously neglected.This is exactly what the widowed elderly living alone really need.This article takes the widowed elders living alone as the research object,and explores the status and problems of the spiritual and cultural needs of the widowed elders living alone,as well as the effectiveness of casework methods in intervening the spiritual and cultural needs of the widowed elders living alone.In terms of research status,the author used questionnaires and interviews to investigate Village Y and found that the spiritual and cultural needs of the widowed elderly living alone are mainly embodied in the needs of emotional comfort and self-realization.At the same time,they also face the lack of family comfort functions.It is prone to depression,family society’s suppression of remarriage,rejection of interpersonal communication,lack of active recreational activities,and lack of respect and recognition.In terms of the effectiveness of case work,based on active activity theory,social support theory,and social reconstruction theory,the author uses the author uses professional method of case work and ethical skills to formulate and implement targeted case service plans for the client,so that the client,family,community,and social workers can form a linkage to help the client increase their abilities.Realize the client’s self-determination,tap the client’s advantages,regain the client’s confidence and hope in life,make the client’s spiritual world continue to be enriched,and truly help others to help themselves.In the end,it also proves that case work has the ability to intervene in the spiritual and cultural needs of the widowed elderly living alone.Certainly effective.Finally,the author reflects on the spiritual and cultural needs of the widowed elders living alone,analyzes the difficulties encountered in the intervention process,and proposes to improve the spiritual and cultural service system for the widowed elders living alone.
