At present, vocational education in China is in an important period of reform and development. In the "three education" reform of secondary vocational education, teachers are the core, and how to mobilize the enthusiasm and initiative of secondary vocational teachers is the primary problem to be solved.According to the dual factor theory of psychology,"motivational factors" can stimulate the vitality of vocational school teachers.Vocational school teachers’ professional autonomy is an important "motivational factor",but there are many problems when exercising professional autonomy. In order to explore the current situation and solve problems, this article uses questionnaire and interview research methods to conduct a survey on 215 vocational school teachers in two schools in Huizhou area.Data collection and analysis were conducted using IBM SPSS Statistics 25 and Excel 2016.It was found that the score of vocational school teachers’ exercise of professional autonomy was 3.57points(out of 5 points),which is equivalent to 71.4 points on a percentage system. The overall situation is above average and uneven in development.During the investigation,it was found that there are eight difficulties in the exercise of professional autonomy for vocational school teachers, including a lack of understanding of professional autonomy,long-term teaching slack, constraints on classroom teaching autonomy, imbalance in academic research and communication freedom, absence of implementation guidance and evaluation rights, transfer of vacation rights to actual work, limitations on school management participation rights, and difficulties in applying for suitable training.Combining eight dilemmas, this article analyzes the reasons from seven aspects: teacher awareness, school management mechanisms, teachers’ own characteristics, leveraging the role of female teachers, funding issues, teachers’ own level, and inherent deficiencies in secondary vocational education. Finally, based on the analysis of the dual factor theory in psychology, resource dependence theory in management, and learner centered education theory in education, six specific measures are proposed to enhance teachers’ awareness of exercising their rights, improve daily management, communication, and evaluation mechanisms, guide and encourage teachers to exercise their rights, provide a better development platform for female teachers, reserve guarantee funds, and motivate teachers to improve their academic and professional levels,Through these measures,we aim to improve the current dilemma of vocational school teachers’ exercise of professional autonomy and look forward to finding a feasible way out.
