| Online education is a product of the deep integration of information technology and higher education,and is a trend in the future development of education.Nonetheless,the open and independent nature of online learning leads to a decrease in students’ concentration and persistence in the learning process,and makes them more susceptible to negative learning emotions,making it difficult to meet users’ needs to improve their learning ability through MOOC.The establishment of learning analytics is considered to be an effective solution to the problems of low user viscosity and high drop-out rates in online learning.As a product of visual learning analysis,the learning analysis dashboard presents the results of learning analysis to users in a visual way,which enables them to access learning analysis results quickly,but the unfamiliarity of users regarding data information easily leads to their inefficient access to information,which cannot achieve the purpose of LAD to promote self-reflection of online learning users.Hence,via the narrative visualisation methodology,investigate the interface structure of MOOC-LAD,use data-driven narratives to guide users in their exploration of learning data,clarify the causal relationships between data,improve the usability of the educational data in the interface,and incorporating user requirements,a requirements-oriented MOOC-LAD narrative visualisation design process is constructed to guide the design,and the effectiveness and user satisfaction of the method is verified through usability testing and user interviews.The specific components of the study are as follows:(1)Collect narrative visualisation cases and study them,define the types of narrative visualisation in this study,clarify the advantages and disadvantages of the three types;categorise and summarise the basic features,interactive operations and narrative rhetoric of visualisation products,summarise the narrative visualisation design process with Card’s information visualisation model,in order to guide the design strategy based on user needs.(2)The MOOC-LAD user needs were collected through data collection,questionnaire research and user interviews,and the MOOC-LAD primary needs hierarchy model was constructed by combining card classification.(3)Apply AHP to determine the importance of each requirement indicator and form a hierarchical model of requirements according to the weighting coefficients.Determine the content of user requirements to be used for MOOC-LAD design transformation.(4)Establish the matching transformation relationship between MOOC-LAD user requirements and product attributes,construct MOOC-LAD design function modules,and apply narrative visualization to functional interaction and interface visual design to build a MOOCLAD narrative visualization design process based on user requirements.(5)Applying the research outputs to the icourses’ s MOOC-LAD design proiect,and verifying the effectiveness and feasibility of the MOOC-LAD narrative visualisation design process based on user needs through usability testing and user interviews. |
