A Study On The Relationship Between Father's Involvement In Parenting, Father-child Attachment And Children's Emotional Intelligenc

Emotional intelligence is the ability to perceive,understand,express and regulate emotions,which plays an important role in children’s physical and mental development.3-6years old is a sensitive period for children’s emotional intelligence development,which is a key period for the development and cultivation of children’s emotional intelligence.Father’s involvement in parenting and father’s way of doing things and attitude affect children’s personality development,and a harmonious father-son attachment relationship will promote children’s emotional development and help them reasonably control their emotions.This study takes 319 children in a public kindergarten in Tianjin as the research object,explores the development status of father’s involvement in parenting,father-son attachment and children’s emotional intelligence through questionnaire survey,analyzes the relationship between father’s involvement in parenting,father-son attachment and children’s emotional intelligence,and tries to put forward targeted parenting suggestions according to the research conclusions.In order to let the father better participate in family upbringing,so as to improve parent-child relationship,promote the development of children’s emotional intelligence.The results of this study are as follows:(1)The overall level of father’s participation in parenting is above average,and the gender of children,father’s education background,father’s monthly income and family structure all affect the level of father’s participation in parenting;(2)The overall level of paternal attachment is above the average level,and the paternal education has a significant influence on the soothing attachment;(3)Children’s emotional intelligence is generally good.Whether children are the only child,gender,age,father’s education background and father’s monthly income all affect children’s emotional intelligence.(4)There was a significant positive correlation between father’s involvement in parenting and children’s emotional intelligence score;(5)The level of father’s involvement in parenting and all dimensions can positively predict children’s emotional intelligence;(6)Soothing paternal attachment can positively predict children’s emotional intelligence;(7)Paternal attachment plays a mediating role between paternal involvement in parenting and infant emotional intelligence.Based on the results of this study,the following educational suggestions are put forward:(1)Fathers should participate in the parenting of children in a diversified way and pay attention to the development of children’s emotional intelligence;(2)The family should create a good family atmosphere to promote the development of children’s emotional intelligence;(3)Kindergartens should assume the responsibility of scientific guidance to optimize the development of children’s emotional intelligence;(4)The society should give fathers the right to participate in parenting,to protect the development of children’s emotional intelligence.
