| With the development of social economy and the adjustment of industrial structure,China’s urbanization has entered a stage of rapid development,with the rapid increase of urban population and the significant expansion of urban land.Yunnan Province has a vast territory,but the terrain fluctuates greatly,and the proportion of available land resources is very small.With the improvement of the level of economic development,the urbanization process in Yunnan Province shows a rapid trend,and the scale of urban land expands rapidly.At the same time,the expansion of urban land also shows significant regional differences,which makes the contradiction between supply and demand of regional urban land tense,and brings great challenges to the distribution of cultivated land resources and elements in Yunnan Province.How to control the rapid expansion of urban land and realize regional coordinated development,the economical and intensive use of land resources has become an urgent problem to be solved.Based on the land use image maps of five time sections in Yunnan Province in2000,2005,2010,2015 and 2020,this study calculates the urban land area in five years by using GIS software,introduces the indicators such as urban land dynamic degree,urban land density index,urban land expansion elastic coefficient,center of gravity model and land use transfer matrix,and analyzes the temporal and spatial change characteristics of urban land expansion in Yunnan Province.The research shows that:(1)In terms of time dimension,urban land in Yunnan province continues to expand,showing significant phased characteristics.During the study period,urban land expansion can be roughly divided into two stages: slow expansion stage from2000 to 2010 and rapid expansion stage from 2010 to 2020,especially after 2015.In terms of spatial dimension,Kunming,Yuxi,Honghe Prefecture,Qujing and other regions have large urban land scale and high expansion rate;However,diqingzhou,Nu Jiang Zhou,Lincang and other areas have small urban land scale and low expansion rate;The focus of urban land expansion is located at the junction of Chuxiong Prefecture,Kunming City and Yuxi City;In the conversion relationship between urban land and other land types,cultivated land and urban land are most closely converted,and most urban land is converted from cultivated land;At the same time,the coupling coordination between urban land expansion and population growth is low,and the speed of urban land expansion is significantly higher than that of population politics,reflecting the rapid expansion of urban land in Yunnan Province.However,it should be pointed out that the overall urban land scale in Yunnan Province is small.(2)Combined with qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis,this paper analyzes the driving factors of spatial-temporal pattern of urban land expansion in Yunnan Province.Firstly,the leading driving factor of urban land expansion in Yunnan Province from 2000 to 2020 is the level of social and economic development(GDP),followed by the factor of urban population,while the ratio of secondary and tertiary industries plays a negative role in the early stage,and it will change to a positive role only in 2020.It shows that with the development of social economy,the impact of the evolution of industrial structure on the expansion of urban land in Yunnan province continues to strengthen.It is expected that the tertiary industry represented by tourism will be an important driving force for the expansion of urban land in Yunnan Province in the next few years or even decades.Secondly,on the basis of quantitative analysis,this paper analyzes the driving factors affecting the temporal and spatial change of urban construction land in Yunnan Province from a qualitative perspective,including population factor,traffic condition factor,scale,urban population,GDP,the evolution of tertiary industrial structure,fixed asset investment,etc;At the same time,the government’s macro policy documents and the development of real estate have also had an important impact on the evolution of the spatial characteristics of urban land expansion in Yunnan Province.In addition,tourism urbanization guided by tourism industry is also an important factor affecting the expansion of urban land in Yunnan Province.The main natural factors are the terrain and geomorphic conditions,which have a great impact on the temporal and spatial differences of urban land expansion in Yunnan Province,resulting in a large scale of urban land in areas with Bazi terrain and a small intensity of urban land expansion in areas with small Bazi area.(3)Finally,according to the space-time pattern of urban land expansion in Yunnan Province,the corresponding countermeasures and measures are put forward:control the disorderly expansion of the total amount of urban land,make intensive and economical use of land,and improve the efficiency of land use;Control urban sprawl,protect cultivated land and ensure food security and ecological security;Guide the centralized distribution of population and promote the coordination of human land allocation;Establish and improve the land management system,reform the land fiscal and tax system,and effectively guide the expansion of urban land;Give full play to the advantages of tourism resources,strengthen the
