The Optimal Transportation Infrastructure Structure In The Upgrading Of Industrial Structure

As an "accelerator" for economic development,the construction of transportation infrastructure can not only reset the regional factor endowment structure and drive the development of related industries,but also expand the scope of product transactions and reduce transportation costs in its operation,so as to realize the spatial efficiency of population and goods,optimize resource allocation,and act as a rapid channel for economic development.Based on the theory of new structural economics,this paper studies and discusses the endogenous mechanism of the transportation infrastructure structure to promote the upgrading of the industrial structure.First,by sorting out relevant research literature and theories,the impact mechanism and theoretical analysis framework of the transportation infrastructure structure on the upgrading of the industrial structure are constructed.Secondly,construct and measure the core variables of this paper,the transportation infrastructure structure and industrial structure upgrade.Finally,based on the panel data of 31 provinces(cities)in my country from 2005 to 2019,a regression model was constructed to explore the relationship between the transportation infrastructure structure and the upgrading of the industrial structure,and to analyze the heterogeneity,further using capital investment and labor agglomeration as mediating variables,to explore the intermediary mechanism of the impact of transportation infrastructure structure on the upgrading of industrial structure.The research conclusions of this paper are as follows:(1)The transportation infrastructure structure has a significant promoting effect on the upgrading of the industrial structure and has an inverted U-shaped relationship,and there is an optimal transportation infrastructure structure suitable for the upgrading of the industrial structure;(2)There is heterogeneity in the impact of transportation infrastructure structure on the upgrading of industrial structure.The transportation infrastructure structure is not significant in the eastern region,but it is significant in the central and western regions.The transportation infrastructure structure and industrial structure upgrading show an inverted U-shaped relationship;(3)There is an inverted U-shaped relationship between the transportation infrastructure structure and capital investment and labor agglomeration.Capital investment and labor agglomeration have a partial intermediary role in the inverted U-shaped relationship between transportation infrastructure structure and industrial structure upgrading.That is,the structure of transport infrastructure can contribute to the upgrading of the industrial structure by promoting capital investment and labor agglomeration.Based on the research conclusions,suggestions are put forward from the aspects of matching the transportation infrastructure structure suitable for industrial development by the government,building transportation infrastructure according to local conditions,and making good use of the comparative advantages determined by the endowment structure.
