| Since the beginning of 2022,the global political and economic situation has changed in many ways.Upheavals such as epidemics and local armed conflicts are constantly being staged, and various emergencies occur frequently. In order for an enterprise to survive and develop in such an environment,it is necessary for relevant personnel to make corresponding management decisions under ambiguous and uncertain circumstances, exert the intelligence of many people, and rely on decision-making teams for decision-making analysis.Psychological evidence shows that after many decisions are made, the quality of decisions decreases, which is known as "decision fatigue." Based on this,it can be inferred that when people involved in decision-making need to make a large number of decisions within a certain period of time,decision-making groups tend to experience decision-making fatigue, that is,team decision-making fatigue. In the turbulent world environment,in addition to economic problems, employment is another huge challenge that major companies and employees need to face.Employees face increased workload, longer working hours, and increased risk of infection, resulting in serious job burnout behavior. Some scholars believe that decision fatigue will have a negative impact on employees’ individual performance, individual psychological problems, and work enthusiasm.Relevant research results point out that decision fatigue has many negative effects, which not only affect employees’ personal psychological and physical health, but also affect individuals’ commitment to the organization, work efficiency, and attitudes toward tasks assigned by superior managers.interests are damaged. Therefore,it is of great significance to study the mechanism of team decision fatigue on employees’ individual behavior. There is very limited empirical research on whether decision fatigue affects corporate employees in a market environment. This study combined team decision fatigue with team member job burnout, carried out a research on the mechanism of team decision fatigue on team member job burnout, and explored whether team-level decision fatigue would affect team members. At the same time, work stress and job satisfaction are analyzed as mediating variables of team decision-making fatigue in the role of job burnout, and the role of the two on job burnout is comprehensively explored.Summarize the mechanism of action and make supplementary explanations to the existing research,so that the related research results of decision fatigue and job burnout are enriched, and it can be used as a reference for the same type of enterprises.Based on two well-established theories, this study establishes a cross-level moderated mediation model of team decision fatigue, job stress, job satisfaction, organizational support, and job burnout. This study uses 647 leader-employee paired questionnaire data to empirically test the hypothesis testing model of the framework. The results show that:(1)Goup decision-making fatigue has a positive impact on employees’ job burnout;Group decision-making fatigue has a positive impact on employees’ emotional exhaustion;Group decision-making fatigue has a positive impact on employee depersonalization;Group decision-making fatigue has a positive impact on the reduction of employees’ personal sense of achievement.(2)Group decision-making fatigue has a positive impact on employees’ work pressure.(3)Work stress has a positive impact on employees’ job burnout;Work stress has a positive impact on employees’ emotional exhaustion;Work stress has a positive impact on employee depersonalization; In crisis situations, work stress has a positive impact on employees’ sense of personal achievement.(4)Work stress mediates between team decision fatigue and employee burnout, while work stress mediates between team decision fatigue and team member burnout in three dimensions(emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and reduced sense of personal fulfillment).(5)Group decision-making fatigue negatively affects employees’ job satisfaction.(6)Job satisfaction negatively affects employees’ job burnout;Job satisfaction negatively affects employees’ emotional exhaustion;Job satisfaction negatively affects employee depersonalization;Job satisfaction negatively affects employees’ sense of personal achievement.(7)Job satisfaction plays a mediating role between group decision-making fatigue and employee job burnout.(8)Organizational support negatively regulates job stress and job burnout;Organizational support positively regulates job satisfaction and job burnout. The theoretical research results are as follows: First, this study explores the boundary conditions and mechanisms between team decision fatigue and employee job burnout in crisis scenarios from the perspective of resource consumption,to provide an understanding of the impact of team decision fatigue on employee job burnout. The boundary conditions and mechanisms between them provide new insights.Second, our findings extend the range of applications of work stress. In this study,we consider the causes of employee work stress, namely, team decision fatigue directly affects employee work stress, which has an impact on employee job performance.Third,we expand the existing literature on workplace decision fatigue by focusing on high-risk industries, filling a gap in exploring the negative effects of workplace decision fatigue. |
