| With the support of policies, new agricultural business entities represented by agricultural cooperatives, family farms and large professional households have gradually formed "emerging industries".Family farms are the main agricultural business entities, which have changed the agricultural development model, realized the development path of scale, intensification and commercialization, improved the efficiency of agricultural operation and promoted the development of agricultural modernization. On the macro level,it ensures China’s food production and food supply security,on the micro level,it improves farmers’ income. However, there are also many problems in the development of family farms, especially in the case of rising production costs year by year, there is a greater pressure on their economic benefits. Therefore,it is of great practical significance to analyze the operational benefits of family farms, especially the operational benefits of grain-growing family farms. This paper takes Yucheng County,a large grain-growing county,as the research sample, and takes the theory of economy of scale and the theory of agricultural economic efficiency as the theoretical guidance.Firstly, the development of graingrowing family farms in Yucheng County is investigated by questionnaire survey method.Secondly, the cost-benefit method is used to conduct an in-depth analysis of the costs and benefits of grain-growing family farms in Yucheng County,on this basis,a multiple linear regression model is used to investigate the factors of operating efficiency of grain-growing family farms in Yucheng County. The empirical study is conducted. Finally, based on the findings of the study, countermeasures and suggestions for improving the operational efficiency of grain-growing family farms in Yucheng County are proposed. The conclusions of the study are as follows:(1)The operators of grain-growing family farms in Yucheng are mainly male middle-aged and elderly, the overall education level is low,the family labor force is mainly 2 to 3 people. The farms with a business area of 100-300 Mu are the most, the land transfer cost is high, the agricultural knowledge and technology still need to be strengthened to learn and other characteristics.Although the overall operating efficiency is not high, family farmers have a strong willingness to operate.(2)A comparative analysis of the operating benefits of family farms found that:In this year, due to natural disasters, the overall benefits of family farms is low,but the benefits of wheat is slightly higher than that of corn.In terms of scale,small-scale family farms have higher operating benefits than medium-scale and large-scale family farms. In terms of cost,it is found that the cost of land accounts for the highest proportion, followed by the cost of fertilizers and seeds, and the cost of cultivated land.(3)An empirical analysis of the factors affecting the operating benefits of graingrowing family farms in Yucheng County shows that: The independent variables operating land area, agricultural input cost, machinery cost, and land rent have a significant negative impact on operating efficiency. The number of labor force and agricultural knowledge training have a significant positive impact on business benefits, while age, gender, education level, and registration time are not significant.(4)Based on the analysis and empirical research results of the operational efficiency of grain-growing family farms in Yucheng County, the following suggestions are made: family farms operate on an appropriate scale, improve mechanization level, and reduce the cost of hired labor;improve the land transfer system to reduce the level of land rent;and rely on the level of science and technology to ensure stable and increased yields of farmland. |
