Research On Agricultural Products Export Competitiveness In Henan Province

With the development of China’s agricultural trade,the degree of foreign trade has been deepened,and the status and influence in the world agricultural trade has been increasing.Henan agricultural export trade has also been rapid development,in recent years,agricultural exports steadily ranked eighth in the country.However,there are still problems such as low competitiveness,low market share and low value-added exports,especially compared with Shandong,the first major agricultural export province,there is still a large gap.In order to analyze the competitiveness of Henan agricultural exports in depth,this paper is based on an in-depth grasp of relevant theories and practices at home and abroad.A comparative analysis of the competitiveness status of the top ten agricultural export provinces was conducted.To explore the experience of provinces with relative advantages in agricultural export competitiveness.This is important for improving the competitiveness of Henan Province’s agricultural exports,promote Henan’s transformation from a "large production province and small export province" to a "strong production and export province",help Rural Revitalization,and promote the growth of agriculture and rural prosperity and the improvement of farmers’ income.The research content mainly includes the following aspects: First,this paper analyzes the characteristics and status of agricultural product production,the characteristics and problems of agricultural exports in Henan Province.Then,in the context of the above analysis,making comparative analysis of agricultural products export with top ten provinces of agricultural exports in 2019 by six indexes,namely,the international market share index,export contribution rate index,trade competitiveness index,revealed comparative advantage index,export growth advantage index,export dependence;and also with Shandong Province in terms of the competitiveness of classified agricultural exports.Later,using Factor Analysis,the three provinces with strong overall competitiveness are selected;and their advantages in exports of agricultural products are analyzed to provide experience for Henan Province to improve the competitiveness of agricultural exports.It is found that the problems of agricultural exports in Henan Province include relatively small number of enterprises,small export scale,relatively high concentration of export varieties,single concentrated export market,insufficient government policy support,low quality of exported agricultural products,and low level of development of cold chain logistics.Suggest countermeasures based on research findings,this includes focusing on the development of agricultural export industries,increasing policy support for agricultural exports and optimizing the conditions for agricultural export protection.
