| With the implementation of the innovation-driven development strategy,the speed of industrial technology iteration in China has been accelerated,the development cycle of new products has been significantly shortened,and the complexity and systematicness of technological research and development has been increasing.The turbulence of technological innovation environment and the uncertainty of market demand will further increase the risk of independent innovation.At this point,firms absorb and utilize external technical knowledge through technology imitation,which can effectively reduce the cost and risk of organizational technology research and development,and help organizations quickly adapt to the changes in the market environment.Moreover,the innovation level of firms in China is greatly different at the present stage,and the technological gap between firms determines the objectivity and universality of the existence of technological imitation activities.Therefore,it is of great theoretical significance and practical value to clarify the role and influence mechanism of technological imitation on innovation performance.This paper focuses on the phenomenon of technology imitation within the industry,and in order to promote the development of industry and firm technology innovation,innovation performance is divided into two dimensions: industry innovation output and firm innovation value.At the same time,the uncertainty of industry environment will directly affect the choice and implementation effect of R&D strategy,and the technological characteristics of firms may have an impact on the relationship between technological imitation and innovation.Therefore,to clarify the comprehensive effects of technological imitation,environmental uncertainty,technological diversity and technological complexity on innovation performance is of great strategic value for comprehensively enhancing firm innovation value and stimulating industry innovation vitality.First of all,on the basis of reviewing and summarizing relevant literature,and based on the theory of technological innovation and innovation management,this paper carefully defines and systematically analyzes technological imitation,innovation performance,environmental uncertainty,technological diversity and technological complexity.Secondly,based on the analysis of the correlation between the variables,this paper proposes the research hypothesis,constructs the conceptual model of the influence mechanism of technological imitation on industry innovation output and firm innovation value,and further introduces the industry environmental uncertainty,firm technological diversity and firm technological complexity to explore its moderating effect.Thirdly,through the collection and statistics of financial data and patent data of Chinese listed companies,the relevant variables are counted and calculated,and the regression models of panel data at the industry and firm levels are constructed respectively.The hypotheses of this paper are verified by Stata15.0 software.Finally,based on the empirical results,the paper analyzes the research conclusions,which provide theoretical and practical guidance for the improvement of innovation performance of China’s industries and firms.The results show that:(1)there is an inverted u-shaped relationship between technological imitation and industry innovation output.(2)There is an inverted U-shaped relationship between technological imitation and firm innovation value.(3)Industrial environmental uncertainty positively moderates the relationship between technological imitation and industrial innovation output.(4)Technological diversity positively moderates the inverted U-shaped relationship between technological imitation and firm innovation value.(5)Technological complexity negatively moderates the inverted U-shaped relationship between technological imitation and firm innovation value. |
