As China enters a moderately aging society, the issue of aging has brought enormous social and economic problems.Compared to urban areas, the degree of aging in rural areas is higher, the problem of providing for the elderly is becoming increasingly serious, and the resources for providing for the elderly are also more scarce. At present, the traditional family elderly care model cannot meet the needs of rural elderly care, and it is urgent to develop diversified elderly care models. In order to address the adverse impact of population aging on rural elderly care,Xiangtan County has innovatively carried out the construction of various rural elderly care models. This article investigates and analyzes the willingness of rural residents in Xiangtan to choose elderly care models and their influencing factors, with a view to optimizing elderly care service models for Xiangtan and rural areas in China,Provide policy reference for improving the level of rural elderly care services. This article takes the elderly care model of rural residents as the research object by referring to previous literature research methods and conclusions.Firstly, based on the analysis of the current situation of the elderly care for rural residents in Xiangtan County,it is found that Xiangtan County has constructed a multi-level elderly care model based on family elderly care, mutual assistance elderly care, self elderly care, and institutional elderly care model as a supplement. There are problems such as the degradation of family elderly care functions, imperfect rural elderly care security system, large resistance to the development of institutional elderly care, and imbalance in talent supply and demand.Secondly,by issuing questionnaires and conducting interviews with local residents, and analyzing the survey samples,it was found that most rural residents are characterized by relying on their own financial resources and their children, with a low level of education, most of them rely on agriculture for their livelihood, with a relatively large number of children, low income levels, and medical insurance.Thirdly, through a cross list analysis of the willingness of rural residents to choose an elderly care model,it was found that women, who rely on their own financial resources, have a large number of children, and have financial difficulties. Those who rely on their families tend to prefer the family elderly care model. The higher their education level, the more people choose other elderly care models, and those who work as non agricultural workers are more likely to accept the institutional elderly care model. The elderly who choose the family elderly care model are the most in each age group,Single, divorced,or widowed individuals with marital status tend to choose institutional care, while those without care in their daily lives are more likely to choose mutual care. Then,by establishing a multiple logistic regression model, empirical analysis is conducted on the influencing factors of the elderly care model from several aspects, such as economic factors, personal characteristics, family factors, and awareness and cognitive factors related to elderly care. The results showed that the significant factors were gender, education, occupation, marital status, pension dilemma, number of children, and who to rely on for retirement. Finally, from the perspective of optimizing the elderly care model, relevant countermeasures and suggestions are proposed to improve the rural elderly care model:improve the rural elderly care service security system, increase the training of rural elderly care professionals, adhere to the dominant position of the family elderly care model, actively promote the integration of rural elderly care and medical care, and exploit the advantages of the rural mutual assistance elderly care model.
