| In recent years, because aquatic products are rich in nutrients and are favored by the public, people’s demand for aquatic products has begun to increase. As a major producer of aquatic products in the world,Vietnam has developed more and more closely with China’s aquatic products trade, and has gradually become China’s largest trade exporter and fourth largest trade importer. The completion of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area, the proposal of the Belt and Road Initiative, and the entry into force of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership(RCEP)have provided new development opportunities for bilateral aquatic product trade between China and Vietnam. However,at present, the world is in a severe situation of the new crown epidemic, the rise of trade protectionism and the intensification of external risks, and the development of aquatic products trade between China and Vietnam is facing great challenges. Therefore, under the new development pattern,it is of great theoretical value and practical significance to explore the influencing factors and potential research of aquatic product trade between China and Vietnam, and to provide reference countermeasures and suggestions for the sustainable development of aquatic product trade between China and Vietnam. The paper is divided into seven parts: the first part.It mainly introduces the research purpose and significance of the paper, determines the research objectives and research content on the basis of collecting and sorting out relevant literature at home and abroad, and points out the innovative points and shortcomings of the paper.Part II.Introduces the definition of aquatic products and international classification standards, and reviews the theory of comparative advantage, the theory of factor endowments of production factors and the theory of competitive advantage. The third part examines the scale and characteristics of aquatic product trade between China and Vietnam from three aspects: trade status, structural characteristics and development characteristics. In the fourth part, the constant market share model(CMS)is used to analyze the competitiveness of Chinese aquatic products in the Vietnamese market and the competitiveness of Vietnamese aquatic products in the Chinese market. The fifth part is to build a trade gravitational model to measure the trade potential of aquatic products from China and Vietnam. The sixth part, combined with the empirical research results, identifies possible problems in the development of aquatic product trade between China and Vietnam, and proposes targeted optimization measures. The seventh chapter summarizes the research of the paper and looks forward to the future research direction. The paper found that(1)In recent years, the scale of aquatic product trade between China and Vietnam has increased year by year, but the trade structure concentration is relatively high. The trade index shows that the trade in aquatic products between China and Vietnam has developed closely, and China’s trade in imported aquatic products from Vietnam is highly complementary and has great trade potential.(2)The results of the Constant Market Share Model(CMS)show that the competitive effect and structural effect of aquatic products between the two countries are relatively small, but the intersection effect has always been the most important reason for the growth of aquatic products in China and Vietnam.(3)The results of the trade gravity model show that the potential of aquatic products trade between China and Vietnam is mainly related to factors such as economic scale, distance between the two countries, difference in per capita GDP,output value of China’s aquatic products and tariffs.Among them, the social and economic improvement of China and Vietnam, the accession to the WTO and the FTA can significantly promote the development of aquatic product trade; The distance between the two countries and the gap in per capita income levels can hinder the development of aquatic trade. |
