| "Three rural issues" is always an important issue to be solved in our economic and social development. The "Central Rural Work Conference" has given high priority to solving the problems of agriculture, rural areas and farmers, making solving these problems the top priority of the Party’s work and promoting rural revitalization with the efforts of the whole Party and the whole society.Among them, peasant entrepreneurship based on peasant households or rural families is an important means and approach to promote rural revitalization, and the best indicator for predicting entrepreneurial behavior is entrepreneurial intention, which is the entry point for in-depth understanding of entrepreneurial behavior. In order to vigorously develop rural areas, the state has introduced a series of supportive policies to stimulate rural entrepreneurship.Entrepreneurship is not only affected by policies and measures, but also by relevant factors such as work experience and social capital. This paper analyzes how rural households’ entrepreneurial willingness is affected by their migrant work experience and accumulated social capital, and explores the mechanism conditions of rural households’ entrepreneurial willingness from internal and external conditions. In this way, against the background of the COVID-19 epidemic, more migrant workers can be helped to evaluate their entrepreneurial willingness and ability, and start businesses correctly but not blindly,so as to avoid the burden of entrepreneurial failure on their families. Therefore,it is particularly necessary to evaluate the migrant work experience and how social capital affects rural households’ entrepreneurial intention.Based on the theory of planned behavior, the theory of achievement needs, the theory of social capital and the theory of population mobility, this paper uses case analysis, empirical analysis and questionnaire to analyze rural families’ migrant work experience, their social capital and entrepreneurial intention. In the form of case interviews, this paper conducted field visits to seven rural families and found that family factors, personal factors and realization of personal value were the main reasons for the majority of respondents to have the intention to start a business, and earning more money to improve their lives and support their families were the main purposes of starting a business, followed by leisure time, personal interests and freedom. From the perspective of social capital, respondents agree that migrant work experience will enhance their tolerance to accept new things and broaden their thinking. They also agree that migrant work will increase their accumulation of social capital, which will make it easier for them to carry out entrepreneurial activities,so they have entrepreneurial intention. In the empirical part,a descriptive statistical analysis was conducted on the current situation of rural families’ entrepreneurial intention based on the personal and family questionnaire survey data of 2019 China Household Finance Survey(CHFS),and then an empirical analysis was conducted on the entrepreneurial intention of rural families using Stata15.0 statistical software. The results show that gender, age, marital status, work of family members and regional differences can significantly affect the entrepreneurial intention of rural families. Moreover, social capital does play an intermediary role in the influence of migrant work experience on entrepreneurial intention. The remaining factors: educational level, political status, physical condition and annual household income have no significant influence on the entrepreneurial intention of rural families.Based on the investigation and empirical analysis of the current situation of migrant workers’ willingness to start businesses, the reasons and concerns of the current migrant workers to start businesses as well as the empirical results of further analysis, from the aspects of policy capital, social capital, entrepreneurial environment and atmosphere, countermeasures and suggestions are put forward to establish and improve the encouragement of migrant workers to start businesses in the family unit. |
