The national strategy of "mass entrepreneurship and innovation" has effectively tapped the potential of mass innovation, increased the willingness of mass entrepreneurship, increased the opportunities of mass employment and promoted the flow of socio-economic factors. This policy context provides two different options for migrant workers to start their own business(returning to their hometown or staying in the city),and based on this, the enthusiasm of migrant workers to start their own business has never been higher. However, the frequent failure of entrepreneurship has not been taken seriously enough.Face" is the presentation of oneself in a particular context. As a form of social and organisational evaluation, entrepreneurial success or failure is an important source of individual face creation. While most existing research has focused on entrepreneurial success,in recent years some scholars have gradually focused on entrepreneurial failure, but few scholars have focused on the local context in China. Therefore,it is particularly important to take the local context of China as the starting point, and to analyse how to keep the willingness of failed migrant entrepreneurs to return to entrepreneurship, and how to develop targeted policies for migrant entrepreneurship in the city of Fuyang, the most populous city in Anhui Province and one of the top five migrant worker exporters in China.Based on the triadic interaction determinism theory,self-efficacy theory and self-determination theory, this study investigates the relationship between attributions of entrepreneurial failure, face pressure and willingness to re-establish business through literature analysis, and uses attributions of entrepreneurial failure(internal and external attributions)as independent variables, willingness to re-establish business as dependent variables, and face pressure(wanting to lose face and fearing to lose face)as mediating variables to construct a study on the relationship between attributions of entrepreneurial failure, face pressure and willingness to re-establish business.A model was constructed to investigate the relationship between attribution of entrepreneurial failure, face pressure and willingness to re-establish business, and the corresponding hypotheses were formulated.A total of 357 valid questionnaires were collected through a questionnaire survey of migrant workers with household registration in Fuyang who had experienced entrepreneurial failure.(2)face pressure significantly affects the willingness to start a new business(wanting face positively affects the willingness to start a new business, fearing losing face negatively affects the willingness to start a new business);(3)attributions of business failure have a significant effect on the willingness to start a new business(external attributions positively affect the willingness to start a new business, internal attributions negatively affect the willingness to start a new business);(4)the attributions of business failure have a significant effect on the willingness to start a new business(external attributions positively affect the willingness to start a new business, internal attributions negatively affect the willingness to start a new business);and(4)face pressure partially mediates the relationship between the independent variable(attribution of failure to start a business)and the dependent variable(willingness to start a new business).Based on the above findings, the following are revealed: firstly,we should cultivate entrepreneurs’ awareness of facing failure rationally;secondly,we should help build a social culture that tolerates failure;thirdly,we should make reasonable use of face pressure to stimulate entrepreneurs’ creativity;fourthly,we should integrate the education of adversity quotient into the curriculum of innovation and entrepreneurship. This study intends to explain the logical connection between the follow-up activities of entrepreneurial failure("talking about failure" and "reviving")from a social cognitive perspective, enrich the research on the relationship between attributions of entrepreneurial failure and willingness to re-enter the business, and systematically analyse the relationship between attributions of entrepreneurial failure and willingness to re-enter the business in the Chinese context. The study also systematically analyses the pathways through which attributions of entrepreneurial failure affect the willingness to re-enter the business in the Chinese context, with implications for the government’s formulation of targeted entrepreneurship support policies for migrant workers and for migrant workers’ rational treatment of failure to increase their success rate.
