| Energy is one of the key factors limiting the future development of a country, and its extraction and utilization have caused great damage to the environment.“The 14 th Five-Year Plan” points out that achieving high-quality economic development and high-level protection of the ecological environment requires a kinetic energy transformation, and the optimization and upgrading of industrial structure is the key to injecting new kinetic energy to promote green economic development. In this context, the industrial structure optimization is a key factor to promote energy saving and emission reduction, improve green energy utilization efficiency and reduce environmental pollution. Therefore, the analysis of the impact of industrial structure optimization on green energy efficiency is of high value for the green transformation of China’s economy.Based on the panel data of 30 provinces in China from 2005 to 2020,a two-way fixed-effects spatial Durbin model is used to empirically analyze the impact of industrial structure optimization on green energy efficiency. It is found that: firstly, there are differences in the level of industrial structure optimization among provinces, and the development of industrial structure is more mature in the eastern region compared with the central and western regions.Secondly, the spatial distribution of green energy efficiency shows a decreasing characteristic of “east, central and west”,and the regional differences are large;on the evolution trend, the spatial distribution of green energy efficiency score gradually evolves from “high in the south and low in the north” to “high in the north and low in the south”.Thirdly, green energy efficiency has obvious spatial dependence, with high level of concentration and low level of centralized distribution among provinces.Fourth, the optimization of industrial structure has a significant positive driving effect on the improvement of green energy efficiency, and there is a significant spatial spillover effect on the green energy efficiency of neighboring provinces.Fifth, population size and openness to the outside world promote the improvement of green energy efficiency to a certain extent, while infrastructure, urbanization level, energy consumption structure, technological innovation and the degree of government intervention inhibit the improvement of green energy efficiency to a certain extent.By reviewing and summarizing relevant literature on industrial structure and energy efficiency, the innovation lies in: firstly, comprehensively considering three dimensions: rationalization of industrial structure, upgrading of industrial structure, and greening of industrial structure,in order to comprehensively explore the level of industrial structure optimization in 30 provinces and cities in China;Secondly, apply the theory of geoeconomics to the study of industrial structure optimization and green energy efficiency, and empirically analyze the spatial effect of industrial structure optimization on regional green energy efficiency. |
