Under the background of new economic environment,the formation of innovative cooperative relations such as flat organizational structure and marginal organization has made a great change in the interest relationship between leaders and employees.In the internet economy era of increasingly fierce competition environment,the importance of initiative and innovation of knowledge workers is increasingly highlighted.How to effectively guide employees,tap their inherent potential,and encourage them to show active following behavior,so as to better play leadership effectiveness and respond to various new challenges with more rapid and effective actions,so as to improve the overall operation efficiency and environmental competitiveness of the organization.It has become an important strategy of organizational transformation and upgrading.Followership behavior refers to the active behavior of subordinates to assist leaders to actively undertake work tasks,implement leadership decisions,complete organizational strategic goals,and interact with the organizational environment.Followership behavior is the basis of a leader’s effectiveness.The results of a leader’s work are realized by followers.Leadership behavior without followers’ active response loses its effectiveness in essence.Therefore,leadership behavior is the key factor that affects followership behavior,followers shape their attitudes and behaviors towards work in the process of interacting with leaders,and thus produce followership behavior.With the change of employees’ mental models and the transformation of new cooperative relationships,traditional leadership style can no longer effectively cope with these new challenges.Leaders with corporate social responsibility are required to be responsible for the interests of multiple stakeholders.Therefore,this paper introduces a variable that transcends the traditional duality of leader-employee relationship--responsible leadership.Based on the social exchange theory and combined with the current situation of Chinese employees’ following behavior,this paper analyzes the relationship between responsible leadership and e followership behavior,explores the mediating role of psychological capital in the relationship between responsible leadership and followership behavior,and investigates the moderating role of power distance.By combing the literature on four variables of responsible leadership,psychological capital,employee followership behavior and power distance,this paper constructs a theoretical model and proposes research hypotheses.By referring to domestic and foreign maturity scales,this paper conducts a questionnaire survey on knowledge workers.SPSS22.0 and AMOS24.0 software were used to analyze the data of valid questionnaires to verify the validity of the hypothesis.Based on this,the following conclusions are drawn: responsible leadership has a significant positive impact on employee followership behavior;psychological capital plays a partial mediating role in the positive impact of responsible leadership on followership behavior;power distance has a negative moderating role in the relationship between responsible leadership and followership behavior.The research results can help enterprise leaders improve their leadership effectiveness,and provide certain guidance and reference for leaders to effectively guide and motivate employees’ work enthusiasm and promote employees’ active following behavior.
